Never heard Tommy Dowd, Graham,Trevor or any previous captain ever critical of teamates umpireview (Meath) - Posts: 55 - 07/07/2016 20:04:11 1878128 Link 0 |
I think they're unusual and disappointing comments to be honest, they highlight the downbeat mood and and lack of unity in Meath football at the minute. Where's the loyalty and encouragement towards his former team mates, I mean with an attitude like that it's scary to think he was Meath captain. On the otherhand would you not motivate you to prove he is wrong?

Absolutely. Very disappointed with him. After his full on ranting last year in support of mod. People have said that without certain players in team (including Kevin) we lacked leadership. I think that may be exposed as been wrong reading this, I wish him well and thank him for his services to Meath football, but to be honest with a attitude like that he certainly won't be missed in the leadership of the team, furthermore very unbecoming of a former captain, royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 07/07/2016 22:00:16 1878194 Link 0 |
How can you criticise the man when he gives an honest opinion. There'd be many in Meath that agree with him. A trip to Derry is tough prospect.. We can win but it is not going to be a cake walk by any means.. He owes the Meath team nothing..Nor any talking head on here.

Yes I take the point that you could use it as motivation to perform and prove the opposite. But my point is, if you were reading or hearing those comments, would it not be like a kick in the balls, especially coming from your former captain and so-called leader! Very disappointing from Kevin. David (Meath) - Posts: 567 - 07/07/2016 22:58:24 1878234 Link 0 |
Oh it would alright..

Nobody said the trip noeprth would be easy, but in my opinion winnable. Kevin Reilly owes the county nothing, correct and has serves us all well. Nobody disagrees. He is entitled to his opinion, but common sense and respect for the players (and his former teammates) should provail, before voicing such negativity in public. I think Meath will beat Derry! Simple as that! I am sure it will be tough but I think they are better than the second half against Dublin! Royalblufill (Meath) - Posts: 482 - 08/07/2016 17:19:24 1878594 Link 0 |
