To be fair I reckon most hurling people in county would be more interested in Meath minors. There be hardly 50 Meath hurling people that would shell out €80 to go to Dublin. Games should be at 11am and 7pm. Anyway.

Sadly the price of success for hurling with the Minors playing on the Saturday. There are clubs that have Minors on there Senior panels and as it is the last round it does count for some clubs. Some people that love the game of hurling would hand out the €80 to go to the All Ireland I am one of those. The best game you could every watch and it has the makings of a great All Ireland. Now the way the fixtures are it is a no go for those that want to go. If the Minors weren't out on the Saturday some of the early games on the Sunday would be on the Saturda. So hard on the fixtures and hard on those that want to go to the All Ireland also.

I know quite a few Meath Hurling fans (myself included) who would have gone to the AI but can't now because of this.

Play the games Thursday/Friday/Saturday without the minors and let anyone that wants to go croke park go. Playing Sunday morning with a hungover/drunk minor is no benefit to any club.

I was questioning the reason for having a game on a Thursday night when Friday, Saturday and Sunday are available? It doesn't make sense unless it's suiting a particular team....

The following weekend is a different story as Saturday and Sunday aren't (shouldn't be) available, I don't think anyone would complain about playing Thursday or Friday and having the weekend free to enjoy the minor and senior finals.

It is very unfair playing Hurling Championship games on day of All Ireland Hurling Final. No regard for club hurling players in this county by CCC. They could play most matches on Saturday as very few clubs affected by Meath Minors. If they're playing Kildlakey V Kilmessan in Dunganny on Thursday why not play games effected on Monday/Tuesday?? I see nothing wrong with Chmapionship games in Dunganny, excellent dressingrooms/facilities and pitches all have barriers and football now around them.

I'd say Monday, Thursday, Friday etc. are all out of the question because of a lack of light. Dunganny can host the Kildalkey game since it's floodlit, but other than that we haven't many floodlit pitches other than Navan. Have Ratoath floodlights? I know Longwood do, but I don't think they're good for hurling,. Trim have lights too, but they're only on the back pitch and the last time I saw that pitch a few months ago it was in a bad state.

I find it hard to believe that any "hurling people" would honestly want clubs to play on the same day Meath are in an All Ireland final, but leave sunday free because Kilkenny and Tipperary are playing each other.

Kilmessan v Kildalkey, The tie of the round. Be a lot of neutral interest at this Match, Kilmessan got a heavy defeat in the league against kiltale and might knock them back a bit but it's always close when these two meet. Kildalkey by 2 or 3.

Navan v Longwood , Will depend who longwood have available, if Lynch and the Healys are available Longwood should win comfortably.

Killyon v Trim Could depend on the conditions. I'd fancy Kilyon to win on a wet evening in Kildalkey.

Athboy v Dunboyne Dunboyne by 10+

Dunderry v Boardsmill Boardsmill by 5/6

Kiltale v Blackhall Be a lot closer than people think. Kiltale in pairc tailteann are hard stopped and I think they'll win by 4 or 5. Potential for an upset in this one.

Kilmessan v Kildalkey, The tie of the round alright. Always intriguing when these two teams meet. It'll be a tight game, Kildalkey are unbeaten but not convincing at all and the loss of Ducksy Doran has really weakened them. Still they have a strong defence and midfield with firepower coming from Conneely and young Kearney. Kilmessan have an excellent forward line with Two Keena's, Clynch and Reilly and a strong half back line. Hard to call. DRAW.

Navan v Longwood , Damien Healy back is a big plus along with Burke, Coloe and Moore Longwood don't have a bad team. Navan rely on Jack Walshe who is an underrated and excellent young hurler, they also have an in form Mickey Kelly. Navan showed great spirit and performed excellently against Kildalkey the last day and while Longwood got tanked by Trim. NAVAN O'MAHONYS BY 2PTS.

Killyon v Trim, Really looking forward to this Saturday evening game. Trim need the win with Kilmessan they're apponents in Rd5, Killyon the most impressive team so far. Unreal work rate and have two classy hurlers in Keoghan and Gannon. Killyon will feel at home playing in Kildalkey and won't give Toher, Heffernan and Douglas a second of time or space. KILLYON BY 1PT.

Clann na nGae v Dunboyne, Dunboyne players are like the Mayo footballers in every aspect. Always faulter on the big day and player power sacked their manager. Expect a response from players against a shockingly poor team in Clann na nGael. DUNBOYNE BY 17PTS.

Dunderry v Boardsmill, hard to call against two very average teams. Dunderry have a bit more firepower and pace. DUNDERRY BY 4PTS.

Kiltale v Blackhall Gaels, This can't be billed as going to be a close game because it won't. BHG are an average team that won a few games in a poor Division and fare dues to them. Meyer, Whitty and Morris are excellent hurlers for them but they'll need more than that to live with the Champs who will cruise to victory in first gear. This group is doing no favours to Kiltale as they'll meet and battle hardened team in Knockouts. KILTALE BY 14PTS.

Big result for Kilmessan last night. Thought a draw would have being a fair result as Kildlakey led most of the way. Big turning point was Kildalkey hitting crossbar in second half which would have put them 6 points clear. Kilmessan showed great character last 10 minutes. This group is going to the death now to separate 4 teams for 3 spots.

Trim robbed again last night by a blatantly wrong sideline decision in the senior hurling game v kilyon .Very hard on lads that train hard all year to have to put up with this and even more so when the sides were even.

Excellent game with Trim and Killyon. Better team won in the end. Game ebbed and flowed with both teams leading throughout. Toher missed penalty (excellent save) should have won it for Trim. Trim were two points up in last few minutes and had numerous chances to finish game off but wasted them all and Killyon punished them in the end. Trim indiscipline and arguing to referee and among themselves was terrible to witness.

The standard of refereeing witnessed in Kildalkey last night was appalling. For 50 minutes hard hitting and pulling and dragging were allowed and for the final ten minutes it was a non contact sport due to frees. Trim blatantly robbed of a sideline which cost them the game, it was said how can a Kildalkey man referee a game in which the outcome is very important on Kildalkey? Joke
