Meath vs Antrim - Christy Ring Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Well how do we see this one going? I think we will need to play really well to win but Antrim are no great shakes, the longer we stay in the game the more they will panic, it will suit Antrim to try and get early goals to kill us before we get settled. Definitely cant let that happen, that should be number one priority.

I'm raging I can't make this game, shift work is the curse of the GAA classes. I hope as many Meath supporters as possible turn out for this these guys deserve to be roared on. Meath will be underdogs alright but as said Antrim are no world beaters and a good start could certainly cause doubts to enter their mind, a Meath win would do wonders for hurling in the county and I think this team have a real chance

Looking forward to do this more than the Louth game.

I really hope Meath fans respect their hurlers and come out in big numbers.

Would it be wrong to go even if you haven't watched them play this year?

Well I really hope they win as its my county, however I wouldn't be the biggest hurling fan,so if someone like me went its a bit of a bandwagon thing something I have not a fan of.

Its never wrong to support your county. I get the bandwagon point but bandwagoners are better than ignoring completely.

Come to Croke Park, at the end of the day its a Meath team in a final just a different sized ball. You wont be asked on entry how many games you've been to.

Its a shame the clubs and the county board aren't doing more to drum up a bit of support for the lads on the day. Arguably the biggest game Meath Hurling have ever been involved in and possibly the biggest game Meath GAA wil be involved in all year and threes not a flag or a poster to be seen anywhere, half the county don't even know it's on.
They're a fantastic bunch of lads and they've done us proud by even getting this far, they need our support to get them over the line on Saturday, the Co board should be doing more to promote this game and the clubs should be doing everything in their power to get the kids going to see the game and support their county.

Great achievement for Meath hurling. It really is a wonderful thing to see. I hope it brings out a crowd as these lads deserve a lot of credit.

We should also take heart from what our western neighbours achieved against the U21 Cats as well. Things can change and minnows can move mountains when there is a will, bit of talent and a bit of luck to go with it.

C'mon the Royals!

Anyone know if you can get tickets from the county board? Would rather sit with Meath fans rather than possibly being on my own.

It's open seating in the hogan (only tickets available), so just pick where you want to sit when you get there. I'd imagine you can get tickets through the county board, I think in Supervalu too.

Get tickets in supervalu or Dunganny it's only hoganstand and all seat unreserved so sit where u want as far as I'm aware. Great achievement the support in Newbridge was brilliant let's hope it's the same in Croke Park.

Ticket info here

If this was the footballers we'd be talking about taking over the Hill but as it's just the Hurlers you should be able to move around easily enough to sit with the two other Meath fans that will be there.

Thanks lads. Though I think I may be a bit of a jinx. This year's semi was the first Ring Cup semi I missed and the first that we won. Maybe I should stay away.....

The very best of luck to the lads tomorrow. Its probably just an annoyance and extra expense for the county board but what a great achievement it is for the meath hurlers to play in croke park.

lets hope they can push on now and start competing at a higher level.
Lets face it a half decent game of hurling is miles ahead of a gaelic football match.
