Meath Championship Prediction Competition!

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Ok lads any weekend we have championship games I will do a competition based on your predictions.

It will be two points for any predicted win and Five points for any correct predicted draw.

Two things...

1.Will there be interest in such a competition?

2.Should we do just Senior or throw in Intermediate too?

Ziggy hope you allow my post on other thread. Is it Senior and Intermediate only or is Junior A included
Senior
Skryne v Blackhall Gaels. Blackhall are a good Club battling hard to stay Senior each year and that will be their lot again this year. With Donnacha Tobin and Tadhg Brosnan they are doomed here so not much point is saying anything more... 7 or 8 points win for Skryne will be kind to Blackhall.

Rathkenny v Seneschalstown; This will be tight enough but Seneschalstown who have a lot of players but not many stars. Rathkenny are not were they were a few years back and if they can hold Joe and avoid letting in goals they may win. I think they might but will Rathkenny score enough maybe not so Seneschalstown to win by narrow margin.

Intermediate;
St Colmcilles v Syddan; Cilles are favourites to win the Championship. Div 1 v Div 3 here and the result will be likewise Colmcilles by 6 or 8

SFC
Simonstown v Wolfe Tones Saturday 9/4/16 16.30pm Pairc Tailteann Colm Mc Manus
Big derby Simonstown usually start well Tones are not were they used to be but probably have more better young players than most. I think Simonstown for this one.
Dunshaughlin v Na Fianna Saturday 9/4/16 18.00pm Trim Patrick Coyle
Another good game Na Fianna have not been firing on all cylinders but with County players McDonagh and Downey in the mix and possibily Jamie Queeny also I think they may pack too much punch for Dunshaughlin
St Peters Dunboyne v Duleek/Bellewstown Saturday 9/4/16 18.00pm Ratoath Joey Curley
Dunboyne dished out a big defeat in 1st round fixture in 2015 have Duleek improved probably not have Dunboyne improved maybe so. Dunboyne to win by 6/7

IFC
Ballivor v Cortown Saturday 9/4/16 18.00pm Athboy Marcus Quinn
The penannuall question will Balllivor put in an effort They have a panelto test anyone in the grade. Cortown are a testing lot and wont lack effort. Early on Ballivor can be useful and will pck up ma useful 2 points here.
Walterstown v Oldcastle Saturday 9/4/16 18.00pm Kilmainham Paul Mooney
Walterstown should have enough to handle Oldcastle but Oldcastle can pull out results like they did again Colmcilles last year. Cant see it here though Walterstown for me
Curraha v Dunderry Saturday 9/4/16 16.30pm Summerhill Richard Morris
Moved to Stamullen I hear. This will suit Curraha who where going to win anyhow

Oh thank you very much Ziggy you are a kind hearted fellow. I am indeed missing a few but as readers will know I am a maestro at predicts and take much time to finally come up with my decisions. I hope kind ziggy you will allow this once they are in prior to the game commencing

SFC
Ballinlough v Gaeil Colmcille Sunday 10/4/16 16.00pm Pairc Tailteann David Gough Big battle plenty at stake Lar Wall has made Kells into a usefull setup. Ballinlough wont lack effort but with Peadar out scores will be a problems. Kells for me

Navan O'Mahonys v Moynalvey Sunday 10/4/16 16.00pm Trim David Coldrick. This will be interesting. Moynalvey may only be a best of the rest Senior team after the 5 or 6 big guns but OMahonys are numero uno of the Big Boys. Moynalvey can cause shocks and will believe they can do so. They will run Navan close and I think this could suprise people but stakes are high in Ziggy's competition so Navan to win

Summerhill v Ratoath Sunday 10/4/16 16.30pm Dunshaughlin Patrick Nelis Tough start for Ratoath they would have liked a lesser side in Round 1. Teams coming up usually have a good go in round 1 and Ratoath will do that but I think Summerhill might edge it
IFC
Castletown v Longwood Sunday 10/4/16 14.30pm Pairc Tailteann Jack Gordon. Cant see anything other than a 8/10 point win for" the Daddies"

St Ultans v Trim Sunday 10/4/16 12noon Kilmainham Joe Synnott Ultans picked up a bit lately. Trim are not great but good enough to win here
