I think Dunboyne should have went with a good experienced manager imo.

Ziggy i think you know very little about Ciaran so why comment?

What have you won as a player or manager?

On the issue of club managers (and this includes some county ones as well)- a lot of them are grossly overvalued with most of them moving from one club to another. The guy who is good at coaching is generally not good at picking the team or reading it on from the side line. A lot of them have pretty good egos and are more interested in control. Unfortunately some of the best guys do not have the time to take up management. I'm not aware of too many good experienced managers anywhere inside or outside the county. Unfortunately the type of player (not all) we have now will only respect the guy they do not know, or the guy that is not familiar to them. I think it may be good for Dunboyne that they went for someone who was not on the 'merry go round'. Now at the end of the day it is the clubs own business who they elect. What does concern me is clubs spending huge sums (some junior clubs as well) on guys who I would not have manage a 'x up in a brewery'. Maybe it would be good to have a rule prohibiting managers doing the 'merry go round'

The new Ratoath manager is a Derry man from Slaughtneil I gather. Played with them up to last year or the year before I believe!

Clubs won't take a chance, all the same names over teams. Typical gaa in fairness.

Big appointment for Kildalkey with Greville, couldn't see Gary Cole going to Trim given that his brother plays there,

Duleek appointment sounds good.
Hungry young manager who has done very well with the Naul the last couple of years.

suprised greville took job with kildalkey. be interesting to see how he does.

trim job arguably has mre potential than any other hurling job in meath so should have no problem filling it. won a minor this year also

I think kildalkey had a great manager on board now.last manager did great job from a man inside there club great to get someone outside. A lot of football managers jumping job to job club to club ect. Some great new managers in al ready. I see from post on this boardsmill looking for manager at both codes, I understand rathmolyon also needs a manager. I heard cathal Sheridan is new kiltale manager, this would be there four managers in few years, there still winning!

Excellent appointment for Kildalkey. Be interesting to see who Greville has available next year, will all the old lads give it one more year or is he there to build a new team which could take 2/3 years. In my opinion a few of them are well past it and the young lads in the club are a bit too young still, but time will tell, hopefully I'm wrong as I'd be sad to see a few of them retire.

Boardsmill, Longwood and a few clubs still yet to appoint anyone for the coming season. Is O'Neill staying on with Kilmessan?

Interesting to see how sheridan (if true) gets on with Kiltale, yes they've changed manager every year the last 3 years but without disrespecting anyone my dog could manage Kiltale to a senior championship with the players they have available, can he get them up a level to win a Leinster? Can anyone see them being stopped this year?

players could manage themselves to win county championship but the club has set their sights on bigger prize.
