Replying To tikitaka:  "Some surprises in Junior B this weekend.
Slane annihilate Boardsmill and Carnaross pip Moynalty.
Slane advance. If Moynalty beat boardsmill they'll advance too, a boardsmill win leaves 3 teams on 4 points and a bit of a mess.
Kilmainhamwood advance with a game to spare and the winner of drumconrath and Cortown next round will advance too."
No winner of Moynalty v Boardsmill advance. Its easy. Both sides have only lost one game. Carnaross already gone with two losses. Top two advance.

What exactly went on with ratoath yesterday?
Do they have injury issues or were they just giving lads a game?
Leaves them with more difficult games now than they should have had.

Says it all about the standard of a competition when a team who scored 1 point (after 10 seconds of the game) and conceded 7-17 over 60 minutes can qualify for the knockout stages. Meath club football at the lower levels was seriously weakened when clubs seconds teams were removed from the Intermediate, Junior A, B, C and D Championships.

Premier Championships are not working and little to no interest is shown in them. Nobody would even know if they are on at the minute or not. Junior A, B, C and D needs to be reinstated and clubs second teams allowed back into first team championships.

If moynalty win they top the group and go straight into a semi. With slane in 2nd and boardsmill in 3rd. If boardsmill win slane go into the semi with boardsmill 2nd and carnaross 3rd.
Seems to be abit of confusing regarding quarter finals in junior B seen slane and cortown both had on their social media they had qualified for the semis. If there is quarter finals they both haven't qualified for the semis yet.

I think there was a motion brought in for junior b because of the bigger groups but u seem to know everything so it end of story

Ratoath looked completely disinterested. Their warm up was a real tell tale sign. No intensity whatsoever. Daithí McGowan was their only shining light. Other county lads looked well off. Conlon was outstanding but leaving him isolated one on one was a crazy move on the part of ratoath management. Maybe they didn't care about yesterday's game but that's a dangerous game to play coming into a quarter final.

Boardsmill were through to knockouts no matter the results of their remaining games. If I had to guess they're probably looking towards the hurling this weekend where they need nothing less than a win. Apparently they have the same 15 players playing week in week out in both codes, that must be taking its toll.

Read the competitions regulation section. Page 18 of 22 for Junior B which was updated in July. Fairly clearly states top 2 qualify.

Boardsmill are not through to knockouts yet,but I agree if the same 15 are playing week in week out that would be hard

Coming in to this weekend we were hearing a lot about the two-horse race. Now it looks a lot more open and exciting. Really looking forward to the quarter finals. Who knows what up and coming young team might grab this opportunity?

The Premier Championships were destined to be a farce. In my own club nobody seems to care about it and I could safely say that the lads playing themselves do not care, they offer nothing to the lads playing them, Current teams in Premier 1 and maybe even to could beat some Junior A teams. Bring it back to the way it was and seed the championship. Club Football in this county is at an all time low.

Boardsmill already beat Carnaross and can still qualify by beating Moynalty. They obviously had a bogey team out due to hurling exploits so your statement doesn't stack up. Dodging by the way the senior 2nd teams respected the A leagues and their interest in the Premier competitions, who is it to say they would respect Junior A, B, etc.

I agree with you but unfortunately it would be like trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube . No chance the junior clubs and some intermediate clubs will vote for allowing second teams back into the championships so we are stuck with it.

Who do you have in mind for up and coming young team ?

I presume Dunshaughlin ? They not near ready to challenge Summerhill or Ratoath.

Still think its a two horse race with Tones 3rd favourites.

Cannot see anyone else troubling these.

If anything the loss for Ratoath will sharpen their focus … and only 2/1 chance they draw Summerhill which will then open things up!!

Summerhill probably favourite now! Ratoth hit with injuries - McGill out, 2 McGowans missing, Gerrard out, Joey Wallace long term out, Cian obrien out, Brian McMahon off early with a bad injury and a couple of lads travelling Rogers, ahern. A lot will depend on getting them back!

Collies were good yesterday - deserved their win. Still a few teams who will fancy their chances

Relegation will be a belter too! Hard to believe kells and Dunboyne are in the mix but there they are!!!

Yes, I think Dunshaughlin are capable of an upset, certainly hope so. Cilles have also a young side and announced their potential yesterday.

No surprise at Dunboyne couldn't get out of an average group last year, Kells never recovered from gifting the final to Ratoath 2 years ago.
