Was wondering where Harnan would line up but turns out he played for his club today! Moriarty to start maybe?

Played for club today. I mean what's the point in naming him if no intention of him starting or even on subs. I don't get that.
Anyway after todays result we have Dublin next week. That is going to be interesting

Dublins result has no relevance to us whatsoever, we will struggle to beat Limerick today, hopefully we get the 2 points, then it's damage limitation on the 18th

Wishing Colm donal and all the players and management the best for today.
Another long journey but hopefully worth it like it was against cork.
Derry have done us a favour in that we still could get promoted at the expense of Dublin. Be it a very long shot.
But today we need a performance and shoot the lights out. We have to score heavy very heavy.
Hon the royal

Why are we still talking about promotion when we cannot even beat Louth at home?

Best of luck to Colm and the team today.

Just want to wish Colm and all the lads the best of luck today. Incredibly nervous bout this one. Relegation 6 pointer. Limerick be tough in their own ground, never an easy result.

We need to get rid of more of these under achieving players like McGill and promote more u20s. Do a Boylan a la 96. Get rid of them. They've done nothing for Meath football. Likes of Keoghan McEntee Harnan O Sullivan O Reilly Walsh Morris Hickey etc. Thank them for playing but time to go.

Only then can Colm really put a mark on his team. Too many lads there pining for Andy it would seem.

On today's game it isn't looking good I'm afraid. Something not right in the camp so be a close game but Limerick by 7 for me

Well actually it does have relevance. We win today and beat dubs we likely back in promotion hunt.
Colm has gone on about how much it's dubs that Meath compare themselves to. So he gets an early chance.
As for struggling today , well if we do then we are well and truly screwed

If some people think that we can still get promoted then we are living in cuckoo land. Derry game was the measure. Dublin capable of doing the same job.

What a stupid post, you can Hardly think Keoghan has done nothing for Meath football?

The under 20s are a good team but you probably watch one game against a very poor Antrim team and decided it's time for the best players in the county like keoghan, Walsh and O Sullivan to be taken off the panel. That's ridiculous

First half performance in one word. Embarrassing.
Lenihane has to be brought on in next half. Up there with one of the worst displays by a Meath team I can remember. Costello jones mcentee O'Connor and Flynn only one's looking like they interested.

Well? Care to eat humble pie? We would be better off starting afresh with the u20s in Div 4. Rather than this tripe we are witnessing.

Can't believe I've travelled all the way down here to watch this same terrible stuff again. We are a shambles. The only consolation is the Snack Box on way home from Supermacs.

Need to make 3 to 4 subs and try something totally different cause whatever we are trying just isn't working.

What's new….recently the opposition always score more points than us….goals bail us out….but then think back to Louth…..the goal was the death knell. To quote from the crash….we are peddling JUNK BONDS. At least Kilkenny have a hurling team. Depressing really…might edge it in second half but I'm afraid the wind is out of the wheels.

Hi all, a long time since I was on the forum. If Im honest, Ive been pensievely awaiting the results of the O'Rourke team before airing any opinions. I was at the Cork Match, and the Clare game and the Louth match last week. Didn't make the Derry game, or the Limerick match today.

My summary would be, very interestingly, that we have still many of the same issues that were there under the previous management. Its obvious that they are attempting a different style, and new players and formations, you can tell the management style is different; but the results remain similar. They appear to be a team of an upper-mediocre standard, who can absolutely play football, but like the previous era, are below average in midfield, long range scoring, and to be honest, still too many maverick players who are still running into cul-de-sacs, too much work for too little reard. They have began to rely on goals to get over the line, which has been an issue for a few years. They make too many errors, kick too many wides, havent the disciplinary nous or cynicism of other teams, and (this is just my opinion), they dont seem as motivated as they were, say in 2019 or 2020. I commend the management for trying something new and giving players from new clubs a shot, but Meath are obviously working with a low ceiling as things stand.

I will always stand by my county and support our players but I personally think the best place to be is Division 3 and a good, hard run at the Tailteann Cup. The players and management will
never publicly say this and many Meath supporters wouldnt entertain the notion, but I think others would and I wonder whether deep down the players and management would be open to this eventuality. Just my opinion, but I think we need a rather dramatic reset, Ive felt it for a few years, but this change in management, tone and approach has not turned the tide in my opinion.

What can I say ? That was awful. We probably owe Andy an apology it would appear he actually had us punching above our weight.
Half the team today looked disinterested and also worryingly unfit , there was so much wrong with that performance I could be on here for ages.
I don't know what to say. For first time in my life I'm speechless.
