Anyone at the challenge games over the weekend? Was there this morning, poor opposition so can't take a whole lot form it I would imagine except minutes into legs that haven't been playing recently.

They had Monaghan down on Sunday. Heard someone say they played Dublin in the other game but couldn't be sure.

That's why we need to get behind them and give them a bit of support...

Reckon there will be a few changes to the named team. I would imagine whitty and regan will start if fit. Best of luck to the hurlers in Birr and the footballers who head to Tyrone. 2 wins would be a fab start for both the managers.

Wasnt at the game but sounds like they really gave a good account of themselves. watching the scores come in on twitter they seemed to shut offaly down in the second half. Should give them belief going into the next couple of games. at least meath spirit of never say die is alive and well in one code anyway!! (que abuse from footy fans)

They were very unlucky not to get something from the game .
Great signs for the year ahead.

Hope the boys take huge confidence from this. Wicklow next week. Get 2 points on the board at home and that will set them up for an attack on the Antrim and Kerry games where it's not beyond them to win both. Best wishes boys next weekend.

will micheal Burke be a permanant fixture on the team now....has he officially finished with the football. Hes lost a lot of years with the meath hurlers

Great spirit shown by the lads. I really hope they bring it against Wicklow.

They should have the beating of Wicklow all day long, but they just need to keep their heads as there has been some bad blood between them over the past few years

Looks like that - then again he has been a good addition to the footballers & cant really do both.

His experience should be an asset to the team.

Btw, are any of the league games doubled up with the footballers this year?

Wicklow should be an easy fixture at home. it would be a lot tougher in arklow.

Great improvement on the last outing against Offaly. Won't get carried away though as we've had plenty of "heartening" narrow defeats in the last few years without ever really pushing on. Since beating Kerry in 2017 we haven't really manged to take any more scalps of the chasing pack of Carlow, Antrim, Kerry, Westmeath etc. despite countless 1 score losses.

Thought we got out of jail today. Early confidence seemed to evaporate with the concession of two quick Wicklow goals. We were too slow to make changes at the back but on the other hand are there too many unnecessary changes being made between games? Today belonged to Padraig O'Hanrahan, superb performance, and I am not from Ratoath by the way. Where is Adam Gannon, Shane Whitty, James Kelly, Paddy Connelly and Darragh Kelly? We need the likes of those available if only for their experience alone. Andy O'Brien was outstanding for Wicklow but missed two handy enough frees. Small margins indeed.
