Replying To David:  "Maybe im wrong but did Darragh Campion not pick up an injury while in training camp in Cork prior to championship opener with Offaly? Ethan Devine was concussed also in same training camp, if memory serves me correct. No??? Can either of these be confirmed?

If correct, and I'm not commenting on the type of injury (because I dont know what, if any, there was), but some guys lose confidence and form as a result of injuries so close to key matches. Maybe so in this case with Campion, and he has unfortunately slipped down the pecking order in the forward division.

Campion was, in my opinion, showing very good form going into Division 2 Final and had a good debut league. But didn't he lose his starting place for the trip to Croke Park? Again, and I'm only suggesting, that his confidence may have taken a hit, resulting as stated above.

Otherwise I'm only second guessing. I would like to see more of him as I think Campion et al is the future."
He came on in the league final and imo was very poor

Well no surprise in the team announcement, seems like if there is no injuries then it's announced same as previous with any changes been announced on day.

Meath (All-Ireland SFC v Donegal): Andrew Colgan; Seamus Lavin, Conor McGill, Shane Gallagher; Donal Keogan, Padraic Harnan, Gavin McCoy; Bryan Menton, Shane McEntee; Ethan Devine, Bryan McMahon, Thomas McGovern; Cillian O'Sullivan, Mickey Newman, James Conlon.

So the team is named, no changes from the 15 that started in Portlaoise. Whether or not this will be the actual starting 15 only time will tell.

Replying To summerof09:  "Tomas O Se not giving us a chance and Paddy Power offering 4/6 odds for us not to win a game in the Super 8s. Im not surprised by this and I wouldnt care too much because I think it suits us. As you said Donegal have to be favourites especially after dominating Tyrone and then the manner in which they put Cavan away so early in the Ulster final. For me theyve improved ten fold since we met them in the Division 2 final. It was only Murphy's third start of the year and he ran the show in Croke Park. Were going in the right direction too but I will agree with what O Se says this is a huge step up for Meath. We will need to tighten up at the back after conceding 1-13 from play against Clare. Im confident that we can step it up and produce a big performance in Ballybofey."
It's hard to argue with them odds in fairness, and unfortunately I put this Donegal game in the same category as the Dublin game, I just can't see a way we can win...... Donegal have progressed an awful lot since the league, and are.dangerous everywhere. I do however feel we should target the mayo game big-time..... they are def the flakiest team of the 3, if we did get a result against them it would make the last round v Kerry in navan very interesting.

You are nuts.....and do you know what... I love it. Im not quite as pessimistic as i was for the Dublin game. There was zero chance we were gonna beat them but i believe we've a chance tomorrow if all be it a small one. Bar Dublin i believe we can beat every other team in the country on any given day if everything goes our way. Hopefully tomorrow will be one of those days.

Replying To RoyalSteel:  "In fairness they need to worry about us too, let's not forget we have some class operators also. Keegan, Harnan from half back, Menton from midfield and they didn't like our pace in the half forward line on previous outings either.

Can't wait for Sunday, hope the boys put in the performance they're capable of.......Hon the Royals!!!!"
Yes 100%. And if others like Mc Mahon COS Newman click it could get interesting. In the league final Donegal changed there system and players to combat us.

Interesting to see if named takes the field.

I would like to see nos. 16-26.

Getting itchy feet, especially with junior semi imminent.

I think its a very valid point David. My opinion on it would be that McEntee and his management team have taken this Meath team here by largely going with the hardest working players and the most consistent players. They have the ability to change players in and out to alter the game plan slightly but by-and-large their approach of selection seems to be based on attitude and work rate on the pitch, and I agree with their approach. It's why we are where we are in my view. Hard work. Another poster mentioned Campion's performance in the 2nd half of the league final and I agree, given the intensity and the occasion, Campion seemed well out of his depth coming in off the bench. Didn't get a sniff at all. Im unaware of injuries and so on, but at the time there seemed to be a selection issue in the half-forwards and full-forward line and after the league was over it seems that certain players simply got the nod over others. I've no doubt that these upcoming three games will be used to develop a stronger squad though, so his absence this year in the championship likely won't occur again, and we should have a stronger and more consistent panel come league next year.

Murphy was very quiet in the first half of the league final you would imagine they would try to get him involved as early as possible in order to dictate the game from an early stage. If we are to win the game the best chance is to establish an early lead and unsettle them. Conlon needs to feed off Newman who is well able to win his own ball. Whereas the few early balls played into him to test the Dublin full back line came of nothing I feel the Donegal full back line will struggle with this tactic and an early goal would be ideal.

Yeah. I think they have players to worry about. But so do we for them. Bring it on.

A fine effort - certainly for the first 60 minutes or so! I hat a difference Michael Murphy makes!! That said - the inability to win our kickouts was truly the difference. It has been much lamented in the past - and something has to be done about it! I think we saw enough today to suggest we can have a right go at Mayo and you never know what Kerry will show up in PT!!!

I posted during the game as regards our keeper but surprisingly it didn't get posted , so disappointing that the kickout problem hasn't been sorted out in some way since the start of the league cant keep giving away cheap possession to good teams .

Overall a very fine performance. Getting closer. Was slightly amazed at taking Ethan Devine off. He was winning ball. Lots of postitives to take into next week.
