I here Meath Mgmt have learnt lessons from the last Donegal game, and have a plan to deal with Micheal Murphy. it wont be the first time someone has a plan to deal with Micheal Murphy. I would like to see Mr Harnan man mark him. What a reckon ?

It can be hard to come up with a plan to deal with a player as good as Murphy and to be honest we need Harnan and Keogan running at Donegal trying to create chances as they did against Clare.

It's no harm to stick someone on Murphy, but preferably try stopping him getting the ball at all, he'll create havoc with the ball no matter who is on him.

We need to be much better at controlling the ball, Donegal will murder us if we give it away as cheaply as we did on occasions against Clare.

Going to need to raise the performance a minimun of 50% to stand any chance ! This Meath team is 4/5 players away from stepping up again ! Them players are coming through or away for this year but Im confident we will get there ! Looks like lads want to play for Meath again ! I was critical of andy but hes done a great job ! We need to keep him 100% ! Newman should be fit which is big ! Need to cut out the silly mistakes, take our chances when we get them ! We have a good back 6 which need to limit Donegal ! We need some luck ! I remeber in 2010 when we beat the dubs paul flynn hit the inside of the post ! If that goes in diffrent ball game anyways best of luck lads ! Were behind you

Bonus territory. Pressure somewhat reduced on the team with goals for the year achieved. Will we see them play even better with the shackles off?

What a great year it has been for us so far. Imagine, promoted to div 1 and now in super 8s. Honestly didn't see it coming.

Thought we were going to lose it towards the end there with Clare but we hung in there. Well done to the players.

Donegal will be tough but if we could somehow , and it's a big ask, get a handle on Murphy I think we would be more than half way there. Harnan maybe. Menton to just sacrifice his own game to track Murphy round the place?

Anyway, great job so far from the team. Keep it up lads!

I like the look of that team maybe O'Coilean in the half forword line with either Ryan J. McEntee or G. McCoy as the other have back. I agree about Brennan in goal can't him changing Colgan though.

Nothing to lose because we haven't beaten a top team yet. Lots questions still to answer. Meath football is now at the minimum level acceptable for a county our size with football as the main sport. Let's see if the lads can raise the bar to Donal Keoghans level and play at the top.

Was actually thinking of swapping O'Coilean with O'Sullivan. I think O'Sullivan would make a decent wing back, would get on the ball more running from deep. Could suit his attributes more. Not sure he's cute enough as a forward.

It's a very attacking team, which is what I was going for.

Over the recent past that's a game we would have lost.

I'm justifying it because both are on the extended panel and both are good players I'd like to see playing.

Shane Walsh never played any championship football til Sunday so I don't understand your point about Campion? Walsh also wasn't on the panel for the previous games either. Not was McGovern for early games. Not sure I understand your point? Is there a rule that says Meath have to pick from same squad named in last match? Please let me know, I'd love to know.

It's years since we beat a team above what is susposed to be our level in championship, last time was maybe Dublin in 2010, would be great if we could win one of these next 3 matches.

Great respect for meath as a county.

When the GAA world disliked the Royals back in the day I hugely admired the men of the late 80s and 90s. I loved the 96 team in particular, never say die.

I will say Murphy is by a mile our most important player but it can he a huge help when so much focus goes on him as we have a Mcbrearty coming to form and Jamie Brennan is flying.

Ryan McHugh and Eoin Ban are going nicely too. We are a much better side than the league but yous probably are too.

Anyway safe travelling on Sunday. Take a day or two to visit our lovely coastline.

In our last two games in Ballybofey, we were dreadfully unlucky not to win. We tend to perform up there while not getting results.
Donegal fans have us written off. All they have to do is show up and they've two points on the board. Let's hope for lots more of that from their side during the week.
We seem to do well running through the middle but we need to convert pretty much every goal chance we get (and we will get a few).
Hopefully we have a referee that actually referees Michael Murphy instead of giving him frees every time someone breathes near him while letting him away with everything.

Nothing to lose in this. We're not expected to get a single point so let's go for it!

If meath go for it like you say, donegal will beat them by 12 plus. if meath play very defensive the score will remain respectable.

Glaring weakness in half forward line not getting enough from cos, mc Mahon.Devine one for the future. No help for menton in middle. Mcgovern?? Conlan done his bit but diff story with donegals corner backs up kicking points will he track or hold that will have to b adressed.there attacking wing backs need to b tied up bodies blocking there runs.james McEntee ryan need them sunday. Great spirit shown sunday will that b enough we will see.

One thing I noticed from the weekend that I was slightly worried by was that when Newman went off , we no longer had a target man for Conlon to feed off and we then struggled to get scores

We really should should have a like for like backup on the bench for our forwards
e,g For conlon we should have Nippy O Dwyer from Dunshaughlin
For Newman (POR would of been my choice but he has stepped away) put someone like Robert Ruddy from Senchalstown in ,who could match any FB for strength and could catch 80% of high ball going in around the square (similar to Donaghy)
