Just went to purchase 4 cusack stand tickets with an OAP concession in mind to find I had to shelve out €140 @ €35 per ticket with a pathetic concession of €5 for an OAP. Last round tickets in Portlaoise were €20 for two games also. Thats a 75% increase for just one round further in Leinster. I happen to live near Croke Park and this is the first Championship action in headquarters this year. A stadium where only a couple of weeks ago, the "Spice Girls" took center stage. I ask the question WHY? It's because it was a double header with Dublin. The meath county board need to stand up for the fans and demand we don't get matched with Dublin and prices are €20. Even for the final no higher. Agree that GAA use Dublin as an excuse for charging higher but Dublin also played in the 2nd match two weeks ago in Portlaoise as part of a double header. So it was a 75% increase from the last day out. How is this right? Like many other, I left at half time of the 2nd match. Only 36,000 spectators there today when I remember there were 55,000 people in the stadium for Meath V Kildare games in the mid ninties.

There was 58,000 at Kildare v Dublin in 2011 and Dublin that year were going for a 6th Leinster title in 7 years. Kildare v Dublin 2009 leinster final 80k and Dublin were going for 5 in a row. Meath v Dublin 2012 I think 74k or 78k. That will drop a lot in 2019. We are well past breaking point. The Louth and Kildare maulings will drop attendances even further next year. If Meath are hanmered by 10+ it will be affected even more. It's time Dublin get either: A) A bye to the super 8's B) Entered into the qualifier first round C) Play in a different province each year so only in Leinster every 4 year's. Attendances would dramatically improve as would the standard of all Leinster teams as they've a real chance of Silverware. And winning silverware will improve these teams further. While I agree on the pricing. The one thing I will say is for the development of this Meath team we had to play this game in Croke park,

Agreed and that's why I'm in two minds. It's best the team play in Croker but it's better for the fans and the match itself if it's in Tullamore.

Not sure whether playing in CP will further a teams development (Dublin being an exception as it now their home)- there's nothing liking winning for gaining confidence. If Leinster council were serious about a ' level playing field'! the match would be fixed for Pairc Tailteann. I know the capacity is fixed at 10k due to what is referred to as H & S, even though the ground would readily hold double that. Now we all know that finance is now No. 1 in the GAA- it used to be our games.

I'm told Munster hurling tickets are €20 euro. Will be interesting to see what Leinster final will be in comparison to other provincial finals.

Agree Cabbage on the kids tickets. For an organization that prides itself in being family orientated, it's a joke kids/families are stuck in the corners. Why not have family tickets for all parts of the stadium? Nothing to do with this forum but soccer clubs in England had to change their seating policies to attract families back to Stadiums. A lot of clubs now have family areas but they are not stuck in corners.

Not a member at all. Just sick of people not wanting to pay to follow there own county. Get out and do a weeks work. Any lad worth his salt would have enough money to afford a ticket

Have to agree with that. Used my opt out option on the season tickets for this as a couple of the little ones wanted to go. 4 adults 2 juveniles cost €166 , no problems with that as I have paid more for a single ticket off a tout. But the options I was given was davin or cusack. Didn't want to be stuck behind the goals so said cusack , right in the corner with davin, bloody ridiculous.

The Ulster Council reduced ticket prices this year based on poor attendances in 2018 and it has worked out hugely in their favour. Crowds up this year, helped in no uncertain terms by a very competitive competition. EUR 18 for a provincial semi final between Donegal and Tyrone compared to EUR 35 for what was on display in Croke Park last Sunday says it all.
