Fantastic bloody brilliant. Magnificent.
What other words can I use?? ?? We needed that. I thought we kicked it away again, but what heart shown by all. Dardis won't be the gk :). I've said it before and I'll say it again what a player Graham Reilly is, he kept going and going, O'Sullivan magnificent mcentee brilliant keoghan outstanding. All played their heart out. What more could a cold ecstatic Meath man woman or child ask for?
Hon the royal.

Fantastic performance by the lads. Great hunger in the panel which is down to Andy . Shows great character to come out in 2nd half, after been bullied in the first, and control the game. Good position to be in with 2 games to go, nothing won yet. HON THE ROYALS

Great stuff; in perilous weather against a physical opposition with very strong previous victories over us too. This win is massive, its been years since we've beaten Kildare at this level, theyre a major rival, a good team, and to come back from 5 behind and fight to the death in a snowstorm to win at the death sounds like a story of the annals of the old Meath. Its the opposite of what we have come to expect and its bloody brilliant. It appears that there is a venom in this team now and we've genuinly progressed in many ways, from tactics to selection to impact off the bench, to their confidence. Its a far better team now. The blip in Ballybofey is a horrid shame. This Meath team needs to back themselves and get themselves into division 1. After what I've seen in this campaign they deserve to get there regardless of who they'll be playing. Who'd have thought 6 weeks ago we'd beat Tipperary, Kildare and Armagh in very tight games? Who'd have thought we'd beat Cork in Cork? And who'd have put us up by 4 vs. Donegal in Ballybofey with minutes to go? Nobody would. Im chuffed at the moment. After so many years of dissapointment there seems to be a new order.

Brilliant result in appalling conditions, very well done to the lads for coming back from a tame first half where Kildare looked the better team. Fairplay to Dardis for hammering that penalty comprehensively home under enormous pressure at the end aswell.

Though it had slipped away from us , as you said fantastic heart and will to win. Great confidence boost for rest of season. Have not been as happy leaving PT in a long, long time. Great credit to all concerned.

Indeed the do. All the heartache over the past 8 years, honestly I felt like I did 20 years ago leaving pt. This was as needed for the long suffering loyal fans as for anyone,

Just for those who like some stats, the current NFL format was introduced in 2008, so it's in it's 12th season this year and this is the best start Meath have ever had after 5 games during that period:

Year W D L Pts (5)
2019 4 0 1 8
2018 1 1 3 3
2017 2 1 2 5
2016 1 1 3 3
2015 2 1 2 5
2014 2 1 2 5
2013 3 0 2 6 Promoted to Div2
2012 2 0 3 4 Relegated to Div3
2011 1 0 4 2
2010 3 0 2 6
2009 2 1 2 5
2008 2 1 2 5

Hard to believe we've performed so inconsistently for so long but it's great to finally be in a good position. However a word of warning, nothing is done yet, 4 points still to play for and Fermanagh and Donegal are breathing down our necks and Kildare are not quite done yet either.

I was at the same match.....Eventhough we won i was disappointed . Two poor teams... Yes Meath were better in the last 15 mins after being clueless in the first half. The penalty was fully deserved, well taken , but put a shine on our fight back qualities .Kildare had enough possesion to win even after the penalty...Our midfield poor. Our full forwards never in situ when needed at the end of attack from defence. There is no blind optimism on the basis of this display from this supporter.

I made a absolute show of myself on the terrace today. That ref really got me going, With some ridiculous decisions. The terrace was very quiet in the first half. The team needed all the encouragement they could get today. I the second half we found our voice and it really helped. We are starting to thrive under pressure.
Kildare seemed very cocky today from the start. and who could blame them given there recent results against us. But we where not buckling today. late peno to win it but in balance. I think we where the better team. W left about 7 or 8 easy chances out there today. Which was a pity. We played no where near our best today but still sneaked a result which is encouraging. I was full sure Kildare would get a equalizer, But we just managed to hold them out.

think you're being very harsh on the lads there. kildare had plenty of possession alright but every time in the 2nd half they came up the field we took the ball off them. How many wides did they have ?

It's all about attitude today and we had loads!!Were always going to be mistakes with the conditions so you cannot judge the quality of football! Its another win, more belief and confidence for the team, can't ask for anymore on what was one of the most atrocious days for football I've seen in years!!

2018 Meath 1-10 Tipperary 2-15
2019 Meath 0-15 Tipperary 1-8

2018 Meath 1-15 Cork 2-16
2019 Meath 2-12 Cork 1-9

2017 Meath 0-16 Kildare 3-17
2019 Meath 1-9 Kildare 1-8

Now that is signs of definite progress. Not to mention consistency of workrate and effort each week. So satisfying and now we need to go and finish the job

Dude...we had 26 shots today versus 13 for Kildare. Yes, our accuracy could be better but that is for another day.
Hard work finally being rewarded.

Let's just enjoy today for what it is.

The better team won on the day.

Well done to everyone and best wishes to Niall Kane who broke his arm today and Ben Brennan who also had a bad injury.

Great win today but still more work to do to be promoted. The way the table is we may still need to win our two remaining games. I had originally thought we would only need to win one more game to be promoted which would leave us on 10 points however if Fermanagh and donegal were to win their two remaining games it would put Fermanagh on 12 points and donegal on 10 points. If Meath and donegal are both on 10 points, donegal will be promoted because of the head to head as they bet us the last day.

Also I taught kildare lost it the second right from the start they where time wasting. On the ground at every opportunity. They where only 5 up not 8 or 9 if they seemed like they where hoping for the final whistle way to early.

Well said, I think sometimes people forget just how poor we were when McEntee took over, now granted we haven't actually achieved anything yet but we look to be improving and we need to be patient.
