Replying To seadog54:  "Details of the Allianz Football League Division Two game Down v Tipperary will be scheduled when CCCC meet on Tuesday. Taken from GAA.ie"
Our match might not go ahead either. As far as i know all final round matches have to throw in at same time, in interest of fairness.

Did i not read somewhere that the Division 2 final would be weekend after Easter?

Replying To meath1977:  "the fact he wants the job is one reason and what a player for this county. Seamus kenny is another man who is doing a lot of work at the moment why not get these lads together and let them try and get Meath back where we belong. it's Andy's chance now but at this stage it's not working and I don't buy this ## that we don't have the players. it's up to the manger to get players to buy into what they are trying to do"
We don't belong anywhere we won things when we were good now were not,, I don't like Andy but we are simply so far behind in everything even paric taiteanns redevelopment is about 20 years behind when it should of been,, I personally tink no matter who does the job we are not going to go forward for awhile I think we still have alot of going back to do

Anyone know what happens to pre-bought tickets if the replacement date doesn't suit?

Was today's postponement a bit hasty? Great weather there at the minute and 99% of the snow is gone and still hours to go.

I get a three man management team Barry Callaghan graham Geraghty Trevor Giles or Darren Fay hopefully they will get everyone playing for us . no matter what anyone says the 25 players or so we have are not the best 25 players in Meath"
A great player doesnt make a great manager , have you seen any of them in action on the sideline esp Geraghty .

I think it would be a disaster.

We dont have the players .

as one pundit said you cant do nothing with a garden for 20 odd yrs and then expect roses to grow.

last need to stop living in the past and look at ways of improving and support the team.

Not constantly knocking the county manager.

We need to invest in the underage structure, the mindset needs to start from the u14 and work its way up.

This was a bad call. The game could have easily gone ahead.

The forecast was fine for today and if snow was on the pitch at 9am it would be long cleared by 2-3 this afternoon.

I would imagine the other games cancellation is a reason as it leaves 4 teams to play 2 games so makes the C.C.C.C.C.C.C.C's decision easier for pushing a round of games out.

Replying To nobull456:  "Agree 100%...........good footballers do not necessarily make good managers. Forget about the personality ,and focus on the skill set required for the job. Most critical in my view is the ability of any potential manager to assess his own strenghts and weaknesses., His willingness therefore to improve without having to be pushed to do so. Without that ability to self assess and self develop you are not management material anyway. Admittedly a manager may need assistance in measuring his key skills such as management style, delegation, using resources wisely human and material. setting realistic targets. identify when help is required ,and report on ongoing needs as required. etc. etc."
What Meath lack and what Andy needs to realize is that he needs to bring in outside coaches. Why outside, well because there are none good enough at Development Level for one. Any good ones are pushed out at a Development Level in favour of the promotion of nepotism and good old chronism.

It's quite clear to me that this squad of players whilst not having perhaps Division 1 potential, there certainly not Division 3 or fighting relegation material at the bottom of Division 2.

Meath are under performing. Defensively they are very fragile but have height and pace up front. Meath need to go defensive, like top Ulster teams, only problem is that Meath coaches can't coach this system, no more than they can break it down. The other issue is pride. The Meath faithful want to play the traditional Meath way and change is hard. But if Meath want to go places they need to change how they setup, and their manager needs to pull in outside coaches and be allowed to coach the players in a much more counter attacking system that acknowledges Meath weaknesses but plays to their strengths.

Live in hope

Good point about outside coaches and obviously you could look at Galway where they brought in Paddy Tally and he would appear from here at least to have got some improvement.

So reading between the lines of what is coming out here, Louth players refused to play that match on Monday, they done a full training session on Sunday in knowledge that game was not going ahead, but Meath set up only informed on Monday morning... very poor form

If GAA at head office level are only interested in using players to serve their own requirements ,And have no interest in player welfare or even showing respect to players like how the Meath Team were treated w.r.t. Cavan and Louth matches then how can management motivate or even retain players.

At some point either players will get militant in an organized way to demand a share of rewards or they will just stop playing inter county.

Croke Park paid officials need to perform much better. Andy is right again

Pity this game was postponed when it was. Considering Louths form I expected a win which would have helped before we played Down.

So now attention turns to this game. I expect Down to beat tipp, so we know a win or at worst a draw is needed here. Can't wait tbh. Hon the royal
