Replying To seadog54:  "From todays Indo. Meath refused change of venue to Mullingar

As a consequence, the Meath management are understood to be weighing up their options with regard to fulfilling the fixture which is to take place in Portlaoise on Sunday at 4pm."
The good is gone out of this for me, hugely inconsiderate fixture for both players and supporters of both teams, couldn't give a toss if this game isn't played now, really proves that the time for these pre season competitions has come to an end. I suspect the weather could have a say by the weekend anyway

According to hoganstand article Meath agreed to the proposal to change to Mullingar at 2pm. That is much more preferable (for most meath supporters anyway).

Which is correct?

Game is in portlaoise at 4pm. Can't be changed due to an agreement in early january with tg4, who said they'd show it as part of a double header with club semi final

I read the indo article there. Meath WERE willing to change to Mullingar, it was Portlaoise they refused.

Just read there Andy is holding back key players from playing Sunday to make sure they are on form for the Roscommon game. Id say Biggy, Brennan, Tobin, Burke & Menton could be included in this??

Brennan and Tobin key players? Nothing against either lad but neither are what we'd consider our key players just yet

Not sure why meath management have problem going to loais ? Surely it's not that further than mulligar once your on the road. It's more of problem for both sets of supporters having to travel to a neutral venue. Maybe CB had a problem with it. Yeah you would wonder are Lonford in a better position not having to be bothered with all this messing. If a strong team is not named you wonder whats the point.

There is a game before it which is hardly ideal at this time of year and the weather that is being forecast for the rest of the week.

Meath and Westmeath should boycott game the Leinster Council are a joke. I am sure it would be a different story if another county in Leinster was involved..
