Meath v Louth

Replying To ged:  "Takes 2 to tango. Joe was introduced to the game by the announcer like he was a gladiator in Rome back in the day when people were being slaughtered for real. Big Jim was obviously caught in the emotion and sticking one past big Joe brought it to a head. Louth is as much over it as Meath are. It effected both camps in many ways."
fair point that...

joe may not have appreciated that either being announced like that.

Dont think he did. 7 years have passed and it has no baring on the upcoming match with only one player from Meath that played that day still starting (graham Reilly) I dont know if Louth have many still on team? But its long long over at this stage for both counties I think

From memory I think Neil Gallagher in goals, Derek Maguire, Declan Byrne, Andy Mc Donnell and Adrian Reid.

Loyalroyal did you have a bad day at the office yesterday?

Replying To royaldunne:  "Think there is 3 at most spots up for grabs, one half back one midfielder and maybe one forward, although biggy could probably be ff, it will also leave the dragging him to ground and cynical stuff that he endures during matches against Louth to a minimum, little more fearful of giving tap over frees. That would be my thinking anyway"
Replying to royaldunne..........Places up for grabs 3 ?? depends on how you look at it .It can be very easy to settle for a low norm. Really we want to get back to the top level again e.g. ding dong finish against Dublin in the Leinster final. Yes it is a long haul, but it is the real target for a Meath team.
So we have only just begun the long haul. We are now going in the right direction, but we have quite a few places up for grabs to realise our real target. However, i expect a win against Louth.

I think Jones recent good form coupled with Tohers recent injury would suggest a Menton/Jones midfield is likely

Clichéd I know...but I would take nothing for granted with Louth.

It is probably long over for the players and management, as most of them have changed in the intervening years. I reckon it is very far from over for the Louth supporters though. Like Mayo after 1996, I suspect that we will still be hearing about it for many many years to come.

I for one was making out he was a gladiator while in the stand listening to all the louth supporters calling him a scumbag coming onto the pitch.... As for louth being over it...we both know that's not true Ged! All you have to do is go into Drogheda on a saturday night and mention you are even from meath never mind gaa and its dragged up again. Any way best of luck to louth because they will need it.

Haha Loyalroyal so it only happens on a Saturday night? Why don't you go out on a Friday night. It might not happen to you that night. Anyway the next time that happens to you your good Louth friend Oliver will sort them out for you.

I think Meath will be a bit rusty fir this one so no complacency can be brought into game.

Agree 100%

Unfortunately since the backdoor has come in you'd have to think we have become a little complacent. Need to hit Louth with everything we got with no let up for 70+ minutes
