Replying To BarneysTie:  "Maybe you should take a moment to check the facts before spewing nonsense onto this forum.

Power and Toher are both injured."
Barney i said maybe this was what Andy had planned all along but it seems odd if Donal was always the plan for CHB why was he not there the whole time during the league. I was unaware that both Power and Toher were injured. I believe most people were picking one or both up to last night so my apologies on that. So if thats the case then i can understand why Andy has made the choices he has.

Tobin will mark Burns and will cancel him out. Tobin is a savage defender and marker, one of the best around.

Criningan, I've seen both players at their best and their worst . Burke , will have to foul to curtail Burns , and with that comes its pain , however Donnacha T is a better overall defender BUT , I have seen him loose his footing at the wrong time . And with Burns in flying form , that's not a good thing . I hope I'm wrong in either case .
I believe the best way to defeat Burns is with Speed , someone who can complete with Burns in the speeds stakes ... Do Burke / Tobin give you that . Will they be first to the 1 Vs 1 ball .

Again, not fit enough to start I think is the key here. Just because he's named on the bench doesn't mean he's 100%.

Below from Meath Chronicle...

"The Dunboyne midfielder will replace James Toher as the Trim man continues to recover from a torn calf muscle that limited his training in the weeks after the end of the NFL Div 2 campaign. Brian Power is the other major absentee with injury ruling out the Ratoath man."

Aye ... lose his footing at the wrong time..... what sort of drizzle are you talking... suppose some great coaching manual would sort that out....

Some of the posts here are so narrow minded. Why does it matter who starts?I'd be more interested in who finishes. Horses for courses. Andy Mcentee is entitled to pick how he sees lads performing 3 to 4 times a week, the man knows best. Toher and power will have a huge part to play for Meath this year, they could have a huge part in Sunday too if fit. Wouldn't read too much into "starting 15" on any team. Any of the too teams will pride their worth on a panel of 24 or 25. Any of which can come in and be as effective as what was their previous. Personally, the team he has picked in my opinion has pace to burn and plenty of fire power up front. Best of luck to them Sunday

Looks a strong team, Keogan and Harnan may switch. Plenty of pace and scoring ability

it is a 20 man game these days and lads understand that. it is a good 15 imo with a good bench but it is all about how we apply ourselves, workrate and play with belief.

Replying To brian:  "So much for consistency from Andy.

I'd say Power and Toher must be ripping right now. Got the whole league to perform and bed into their positions and come the sunny days they're out. Now maybe this was Andy's plan all along but if things go sideways on Sunday he's made a rod for his own back. I'd have no confidence in Burke to keep Burns quiet for the whole game."
What a load of nonsense! Only 2 or 3 players are guaranteed starters on this team and them two players are a long way from guaranteed starters.
Power was roasted in at least 2 or 3 games in the league and Toher was hardly great either, solid performances but if Jones has been playing well in the challenges and Andy Mc thinks he is ready to start why not? He has been talked about for a long time and after seeing him once or twice playing club football he fully deserves his chance.

I would not put mickey Burke in the fullback line he might suit a free roll doubling up or as a sweeper but we have not played like that so far it's the not know ing how we will set up or line out that's exciting. I think we will be tight at the back we have pace everywhere best way to stop any team is not to give them the ball win midfield battle and your halfway there I think that although half forward line is very pacey it lacks in hight and could be targeted on there kickouts. Would like to see Newman at 11 with Wallace and of Sullivan ether side of him we need to score any frees we get in the game teams will cop on to foul us on the 40 if they see us miss from that distance just my opinion but in Andy I trust going into the capital (Navan) tomorrow to buy me flags and hangem high can't wait for Sunday rise up yee royals

Expect us to win on Sunday. Won't be a lot in it though. Vital that we start converting frees to scores. Meath by 2 or 3.

No I mean the days of looking after your own are alive and well in Meath. I don't think there are too many genuine football followers in Meath who regularly attend club matches would agree that Shane Mc is worthy of a starting berth ??
