Chris lived in Athboy in his later years but was born and reared in Loman St in the heart of Trim and together with his late brother Paddy played hurling for the Trim club over a number of years. Chris' hurling and football career spanned the 1970's and 80's. Hurling was his main game where he fielded at fullback and goalkeeper for the club's senior hurling team and played up to 1986 when he donned the goalkeepers jersey as Trim were beaten in the Junior Two hurling final. In later years he was a great supporter of Trim hurling teams.
