'Louth gave us our bellyful today'

Brian Fenton has rejected the notion that Dublin took Louth for granted in the Leinster SFC final.

The All-Ireland champions racked up their 14th Delaney Cup on the bounce, but only after Ger Brennan’s rank outsiders had pushed them all the way at Croke Park.

"Glad to get out of it I think. Glad to get out alive. Louth gave us our bellyful there today, credit to them, (they) made things so hard for us, but we absolutely expected that coming here today because they're a class team,” the Dublin midfielder told RTÉ after receiving his Man of the Match award.

"They defended so well as I said, made things so hard for us, couldn't get any of our real key inside forwards on the ball. They just came out to spoil us and that happened for large parts of the game.

"We probably caught them on the break there for our goal. All in all, probably lucky to get out the door with a win and just glad to get back on top."
