as a Ballinamore man myself, this nonsense of the ref costing us the game needs to stop. someone said earlier that our big players didn't do enough and manors big players really showed up. unfortunately from a Ballinamore mans point of view this is true. it was the biggest game of some of these young lads life to date. maybe it got to them and manors experience and cunning shone through, this young ballinamore team will be back. I certainly don't begrudge manor their win, it sickens me we lost alright but I don't begrudge manor. this whole thing of blaming the ref needs to stop.

agree totally Celticmanor, some lads are never happy. I spoke to some of the players and they are delighted to be involved and to be winning. these keyboards warriors giving off probably never a kicked a ball. winning breeds a winning mentality no matter what the level. a lot of these lads that played would have been on the minor team a few years back that won the Connacht league so its building confidence in them all the time.

Replying To Leitrim1234:  "I don't think there will be any more than one change for the weekend if any. If the game goes ahead we will need to be prepared for a physical battle and to protect some of our players who will surely be targeted. We will also need to cut down on the amount of frees we are giving away. It is said Hyland is a big fan of Evan Sweeney but I find it doubtful that he would go from not being fit enough to be a substitute last weekend to a starting position this week. What's more likely to happen is that there will be a shake-up of our substitutes. There were 3 or 4 players named last weekend that I can't see making the final panel after it is cut. I would expect Sweeney if he is fit, Emlyn and Sean Flanagan to make the bench this weekend. The worry is that none of these are defenders. We really need Fergal McTague, Oisin Madden, Noel Plunkett and Conor Reynolds to get back to fitness to provide competition and cover for our defenders. Maybe a postponement due to weather would be no bad thing an extra weeks training/recovery etc. We have to remember the league is our main competition so being as prepared for it as possible is no bad thing. On match day you can only name 26 on a panel, come the championship or the end of the league we will need our strongest bench available. I think this would give us the most cover and impact if everyone is fit. This is assuming Fergal McTague goes into the full back line and Darragh Rooney and Gary Plunkett both end up starting which I know many will disagree with. A bench with: Daire Maxwell (Sub Goalkeeper) Aidan Flynn Gary Reynolds Noel Plunkett Oisin Madden Sean Flanagan Cillian McGloin Domhnail Flynn Emlyn Mulligan Damien Moran Evan Sweeney"
its worrying to see Maxwell as sub goalie there. he's not first choice for ballinamore and I don't think he's ever started a senior championship game for them. I could be wrong though.

Replying To totalrecall:  "if mayo could score they'd have 20 all-irelands!!!!!!!!...................last time i checked SCORING is a fundamental part of the game. ballinamore couldn't beat manor who no longer have about 50% of last years team. they seem to get hyped up every year and have yet to deliver, the ref got the balme for them losing last year, what's this year's excuse???"
people that don't understand football blamed the ref last year and were wrong to do so. Ballinamore seem to play a bit negative and don't utilise the players they have to their full potential. also the lack of action in doing something to try and curtail Bruno McDonald was very apparent. Bruno was on fire and ran the show, but nothing was done. manor deserved their win and in my opinion the goal Ballinamore got right at the end somewhat made things look better than they were. manor were a 6-7 point winning team sunday easily. best of luck to them going forward.

Willies to win by a point or 2 in a tight affair low scoring. SOH to win by 5 or 6 in the end after a nip/tuck first half.

yes well done to SOH, excellent performance especially from midfield forward. still worry a little about their corner back who can't seem to completely mark lads out of it. but the are very good generally, I agree with giving them every chance especially now as carrick is more like a home venue to them now they'll fear nothing and rightly so. hopefully the willes get their win it'll be tough yes but impossible definitely not.

its easier to stay in senior than get out of intermediate, you have so many chances to stay in senior. all you have to do is win the relegation final and you stay up. you could have lost all your group games before that and a relegation semi final. that's not right. I agree that 2 teams at least need to go down. both teams that reach the intermediate final should go up then that final would be more open and would be all about winning the intermediate and not just about getting senior promotion.

soh have a players wedding on Saturday in galway so they'll struggle to be in good shape. I'm sure when the wedding was booked the lad never thought they have to play a game the day after it so totally agree, its wrong to be playing this time of year. mohill by 3 manor by 2

Replying To TaytoFoley:  "So are you telling me that if St Mary's and Mohill amalgamate and put out 2/3 teams that should be allowed. It's a complete farce and from what I hear there's a few individuals from both clubs driving this. Win at all costs is not the way it should be. Shame on both clubs for allowing it to happen. Other amalgations have been mentioned ib this forum but the smaller clubs are genuinely struggling for numbers."
read my previous message Ballinamore have 10 - U13 players. stop listening to idle gossip. look at the pictures on their facebook page to see exactly how many players togged out for them from both clubs - 21 players in total from 2 clubs and all those players played full games over the weekend. you can't deny thats a positive. thats the reality of the numbers game in the county at the moment.
