Excluded from training Under 6s - 2 Like(s)
Has someone already been appointed to train the team? If so then why do you want to interfere with what they are doing? I'm not having a go but I'm sure when you were managing if a parent hopped over the fence and started training their own you wouldn't have been best pleased. Go along to training, watch your kids enjoy themselves and let it be what it is. Dont stress out about Under 6. As long as the kids are happy then it dosnt matter how good the coach is.

Were the floodlights broken in Croke Park? - 2 Like(s)
How did we ever play matches at 3.30 on a Sunday afternoon in August before we had floodlights? BTW those rugby matches were played in March. We will tell the lads in Thurles to turn them on good and early next week so folks can find the stadium in the dark. They may use a neon ball for the 6.45 throw in.

Can the GAA survive the Rugby onslaught - 2 Like(s)
I wouldn't panic just yet lads. The GAA has a way to go to catch upon the marketing of the games but overall the product is superior so time will tell. Croke park is the only venue for GAA that really does the corporate thing well. Once a few more grounds are giving that option then there will be a chance of parity on that front. Its actually not that difficult. Look at how the dog and horse tracks provide some form of hospitality at events even the smaller tracks. Structures are a problem. Its very hard to sell a season ticket for a county that are in division 2,3 or 4 and likely to only play 2-3 games in the championship. There is no tapping into the corporate market for those counties and no media outlet is going to get exited about it. Also the irregularity of the games and the Sunday afternoon slot just doesnt appeal to the fairweather supporters. I'm sure all of us dont mind going out at 2:30pm to watch our county team on a cold march sunday in a ground with a few hundred cold concrete seats and a small shop selling mostly sweets and if you are lucky a polystyrene cup of tae or a cup-a-soup. It dosnt appeal to the masses im afraid.

All-Ireland HURLING final not sold out - 2 Like(s)
Not a surprise at all. For the 3 years in a row that KK and Tipp met a few years back demand for tickets was steadily reducing. I remember I could have had as many tickets as I wanted for the final in 2011 and never saw as many guys trying to get rid of them on the street in the lead up to the match. Truth is that Hurling championship is gone very stale and with the exception of a couple of good games a year nothing has changed much over the past 10 years. Also the predicted heavy rain this weekend wont have helped much. Its no fun being soaked in Croke park.

Empty Hill today - 1 Like(s)
If they had finished the stadium properly and built the stand all around this wouldn't be an issue. As for cheap tickets. Its the All Ireland final FFS. €80 is positively bargain basement.

New managers in Laois and Offaly - 1 Like(s)
What do people think of the appointments? Eamon Kelly in Laois and Kevin Ryan in Offaly. Seems like a managerial merry go round in the second tier counties. Kelly previously with Kerry and Offaly. Ryan with Carlow and Antrim. As a Laois man I'm a bit underwhelmed. I'm sure he's a safe pair of hands but nobody will be too getting excited about huge progress forward. At least with Cheddar there was pure passion for Laois Hurling and an ambition to compete with the big boys.

What's the smallest GAA club in your county? - 1 Like(s)
Catchment area dosnt matter. Its people that make a club. Membership and playing numbers the only factors that matter when talking about small or big.
