Down forward Barry O’Hagan is facing another long spell on the sidelines after suffering his second cruciate ligament injury in 12 months.

The luckless Clonduff clubman has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining the dreaded injury during the second half of Down’s narrow Ulster SFC semi-final loss to Armagh last Saturday. He had only recently returned to fitness after being a year out of action, and had come off the bench against the Orchard County.

The injury is a blow to Down’s hopes of making amends for last year’s Tailteann Cup final loss to Meath. They have been drawn in the same group as Offaly, Limerick and London.
