Louth manager Ger Brennan has called on the GAA to fast-track plans to build a new stadium in Dundalk.

The Wee County have played their Allianz League home games in Ardee for the last three years, but due to Páirc Mhuire’s restricted capacity of 2,800, will host neighbours Meath over the Monaghan border in Inniskeen in the upcoming All-Ireland SFC.

“I don’t want to speak out of turn, but I think possibly more could be done from the GAA to accelerate the development of the new stadium in Dundalk. I think more could be done for the lads,” Brennan told reporters after Louth’s Leinster SFC final defeat to Dublin.

“There’s an awful lot of work being done by the executive and the previous executive team so I think the GAA really need to give them a bit more support here and get boots on the ground in Dundalk.”
