Bradley a major doubt for Ulster Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Just read on teletext that Eoin Bradley got injured in training this morning and the fears is that he may have a cruciate injury.

If this is true it is a major blow to the team and the player himself. He was outstanding against Armagh and his confidence would be sky high at present, but on the other hand it's a team game and we must strive to overcome such setbacks and put in a player who is capable of stepping upto the mark.

His scan is tomorrow morning so we should know the outcome late tomorrow evening, get the prayer books out folks and lets hope it's not too serious.

It would be a shame if Eoin and Paddy were to miss the Ulster Final after all the service the lads have given Derry over the last decade. I hope he is fit for the final. In the even he is not we have many other players fit to stand in and pull their weight, we are a team now and are not reliant on any one player.

injury nightmare lets not beat around the bush this is the biggest game for Derry in 13 years and Eoin had stepped up to the plate to fill the void left by Paddy, and it looks now he has suffered the same fate as his brother. Even if its not a crutiate injury its most likely he will miss out on a place in the final due to swelling and bruising. I'm pretty sure this now throws Brennans plans out the window, we have one week to change game plans and figure out who will play Full Forward Lynch,O'Boyle Kielt? Johns has to pick the boys up finals for us dont come round that often and the odds are now stacked against us but the oak leafers must march on!

Adversity is the window of opportunity There is plenty of talent on that Derry bench and who ever steps up to the mark will have nothing to prove and no pressure. We are a team now

We have had our fair share of injuries and now again this has happened no luck at all,but as others have said were a team unit and will have2 overcome this who willplay if HE S ruled out, donegal would have doubled up on him so it will disrupt their plan slightly,so we will have 2 put in an almighty effort 2 win this game.

By all accounts it looks like Eoin is ruled out for next weeks Ulster Final, Derry's biggest game for 13 years! We have suffered from alot of injuries as of late with Eoins brother Paddy ruled out for the year with a cruciate and it now looks Eoin has suffered the same fate. We can only hope its not a cruciate with a scan due on Monday and even if its not Eoin will still take no part in the final due to swelling etc this now means Brennan's plans have been thrown out the window. Question is now who plays in our full forward line Lynch, O'Boyle, Kielt? Its a real dagger in the heart and Brennan has only a week to lift the boys and figure out a new gameplan! No doubt about it folks we are up against it next sunday, can we still do it against all odds?

He'll be a big loss to Derry. While it probably boosts Donegal's chances I'm sorry for the lad. He's a great player and has been playing some super stuff to date. Hope he gets well soon, (well after this Sunday of course!)

In other words will he be available for the kildare match? Lets not get ahead of ourselves! Kildare still have to go to navan and beat meath and although derry are up against it I wouldn't rule them out. Hope eoins injury is not too serious but by the sounds of it, - it would be highly unlikely he will be back anytime soon.

As a Donegal man I'm dissapointed for Eoin Bradley and was actually looking forward to his tussle with Neil Mc Gee on Sunday. All finals deserve the best players but I still think Derry will rally and give us a torrid day with or without Eoin Bradley. If it is the cruciate injury, i had one myself, best of luck lad on your recovery. To finish, I hope we have a great final to talk about this day week with ofcourse a Donegal victory, See you all in Clones!!

That's a massive pity!

To be the best, you'd want to beat the best! A win for Donegal next week would be tainted in the same way Down beat a 'weak' Kerry team last year.

I hope this galvanises the Derry crew the same way Wexford responded to the loss of Forde! Lyng and Brosnan came to the fore - give some of the other fellas to shoot!!

The only thing I hope is that Derry doesn't display a masterclass on how to play real football!!

This will be a serious psychological blow to the Derry players if Eoin Bradley is ruled out. I fancied Derry for Ulster, but wouldn't even give them a chance without Eoin unfortunately.

Yes we will miss Eoin no doubt, but to say we now have no chance is nonsense!

It has been confirmed its a very serious injury worse than Paddy's its not just cruciate ligament but medial and lateral ligaments aswell. I wish the two Bradleys well and hope to see them back in the oak leaf shirt next year.

What excuses will you make when Barry McGoldrick lifts the Anglo Celt? Johndoherty25 go back to your Donegal forum and practice parking the bus in front of the goal

it will be disappointing not to have eoin playing as he is a class act to watch, bringing my son to his first ulster final and he was looking forward to seeing mr bradley in the flesh. hopefully we will have a good game of football with hopefully a donegal win. although its going to be very tough.

I am very disappointed to hear of Eoin Bradley's bad injury. Nobody who has played the game would wish this on any player. I have met the Bradley's and they are great lads and very genuine. Heres wishing them both a speedy recovery. There is no denying its a major blow to your county to lose two such talented forwards but now its up to the panel to show their mettle.
Hopefully we have a good open game on Sunday and that Donegal play some football like it should be played ( a la Derry the way they defeated Armagh)
But anyway I will be on the Hill on Sunday and I hope we get some sunshine too to mark a great day in the Ulster calender. Best of luck to all
