Carlow v Derry

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Well, So its off to Carlow we all go for the qualifiers! I might get a wee trip down to this game if I'm good, We jet off to the States from Dublin the day after, Still a bit of edging to do but should be easy enough. Well what do we think about this draw?? Will we be looking forward to more than 2 games in the Championship?

Orlaith - This is not going to be as easy as everyone is making out and I do expect us to win but it won't be a cricket score. We have some big players who will be missing ie. Fergal Doherty, Charlie Kielt, Mickey McGoldrick, Mark Lynch and I hear Muldoon is still not fully fit but I don't know how true that is. We should still have enought quality to get us through to the next round but every year the qualifiers throw-up a shock and we have to guard against that.

I'll be there anyway supporting the boys to victory.

It will be interesting. Didnt know lynch was out, what's wrong with him? I take it Fergal D's Hamstring still hasnt cleared up?

From memory of Carlows first game they had a very handy midfielder back from australia, but luckily for us he got a straight red (from memory). Maybe some of you Carlow folk can confirm?

Yes Derry-ledd, that was Brendan Murphy. He is our only top class player and sadly for us is suspended for this game. He got a straight red against Wicklow and as he already had got a red in league against Clare he got a 2 month ban. Huge loss for us.

Carlow v Derry game is part of a double header in Dr Cullen Pk on 26 June.

Carlow v Derry @ 5pm and Carlow v Laois (Hurling) @ 7pm.

Was just reading this thread and seen Lynch is out; what happened here?

Challenge match tonight @ Celtic Pk against Donegal. With Doc, Diver and Patsy out, Cassidys main problem is midfield. Would like to see what he does here.

Well at least we didn't draw Antrim! I am married in Antrim and I couldn't listen to the wife if we had of gotten beat.

Hmm Skinner not in the full forward line, About time I say hes good around the half forward, I think thats a strong enough team for Saturday, Looks like I'll be missing it :( I hear if they win this they will be playing on the 10th? Well they better win that one if they do get that far because see if I get home and Derry are out, I'll not be a happy camper

i hear r convery is on the football panel, this is a great move by cassidy but its a pity its been forced on him....convery is a stand out footballer and hurler and will do some serious damage no matter where he plays, should be played for the entire game against carlow preferably in the middle with muldoon...derry by 10 - 12 points
