Replying To The Quiet Man:  "I would just like to clarify something for sceptical and probably many on here who don't know me. I attended very few club games why you ask well it's because of what I did and as a result it was near impossible for me to go to many games. I worked 7 days a week and evenings as there was always something on either in the meeting rooms the extra pitches and even the main pitch there was alway's something going on and as a result I was not able to view many games outside the park and off course sceptical knows this as do many of you. Example if the county team were playing away you would have others to step into their place example hurling ladies underage and meetings. Easy to say I did not go to many clubs and the reason is because of what I did but in contradiction to you sceptical I did attend games but not as many as I would have liked. Because of what I did I was deprived of even going to a lot of the Cavan games as others would book the pitches and as a result I had to stay there, you know this off course., I will say however I probably saw far more games than most of you at all levels and I would certainly have been able to note any potential from the youth to the seniors so I would be close to all the potential out there that many would not, so sceptical on one hand I would have seen far more than you but at one club I would not be privy to their set ups. I am a full paid up member of a senior club as well as Club Breiffni so as a Cavan supporter I have contributed over the years. Yes I am a Cork man and proud of it never be ashamed of your roots as for me wearing the Cork colours I have worn them and proud to do so and I have worn the Cavan shirts as well and also very happy to wear them. It's okay to be from Cavan and support Man United Liverpool and Man City ect but not for me to be from Cork and support Cavan after almost 50 years living in Cavan it's a strange world. I think you would be well suited alongside the trash TRUMP and Johnson."
Look i dont want another essay. I will leave it at this. I have attended countless club and county games and have seen you at almost none. I dont care about why you couldn't attend. My gripe with you and your likes is that you have constantly sniped at county players and management since you moved on from the groundsman job. You know nothing about the club scene in cavan. Your posts are obviously motivated by a wish to get back at the powers that be. If you name an alternative squad there, as you say without the blinkers, then we can compare. If you don't know the players stop spouting uninformed nonsense.

Replying To The Quiet Man:  "[quote=cavanman47:  "[quote=Hardtimes:  "[quote=The Quiet Man:  "cavanforsam: has hit the nail on the head and it's great to see some people have common sense. ==================================================== 11 teams where are the rest like Derry Down Cork Tipperary Limerick Roscommon Laois Kildare Longford Westmeath even Fermanagh Waterford I would say the remainder should be easy enough London Leitrim Carlow Wicklow Antrim Wexford "BUT" ??????? I cannot believe that you believe that Cavan can beat all of the following Derry Down Cork Tipperary Limerick Meath Armagh Mayo Roscommon Kildare even Longford Westmeath Monaghan & Fermanagh well I expect they might be able to beat Fermanagh for they are not a happy camp right now we will see net February. Cavan have to play Armagh Fermanagh Kildare Westmeath Clare Roscommon and Laois in Division 2"
FFS we beat Armagh and Monaghan a few weeks ago in championship. What are you on about."]Aye but waterford are another level! Take no heed of him"]I will close after this: To the previous poster I remember the Waterford game well a good few years back when on a Thursday night all the fringe players were invited in after the match the following weekend. All they needed to do was hammer this waterford team by 22 points no problem and we will top the table oh boy did Cavan get a lesson on complacency and the rest is history. Lol Lol Lol Lol Lol John Kiely had to scrape a team together to play Cavan all he could offer them was that if they came in and played Cavan they would get to play Kerry in their first game in the Munster competition. Prior to that match I spoke with John in the middle of the Breiffni pitch when he told me the above. A few minuets before kick off he did not even have a team to start. 4 players came in through the top turnstiles with a few minuets to spare and the rest is history. To the big mouth supporters and posters here it's all about attitude attitude attitude attitude attitude attitude attitude attitude??? Some day Cavan will get a manager who will be the boss and results will follow guaranteed."]I'm reluctant to get into a debate with you as I feel you have no knowledge of cavan football worth noting. However, that Waterford game was over ten years ago. You are making it obvious that you feel short changed by some element. Look I speak for many I'd imagine when I say, go away. Take up golf, put on a Cork jersey, or START GOING TO GAMES! You don't attend club games and are a member of a club in name only, if at all. Your rants are toxic and obviously motivated by personal anger. Oh and speaking of blinkered. I doubt you could name any Cavan team based on your knowledge of the club scene. I'm no county manager but at least I go to games.

Sean, why don't you just put your list up here? So people don't think you're bluffing. It's pointless saying you've a list of good players and then running down the team without putting your list forward for all to see. For what it's worth, I think only David Givney would have significantly improved Cavan this year (and maybe Martin Dunne if he'd stayed interested and developed physically over the last 5 years). Crosserlough have some very good players coming through who will make the step up over the next 2 or 3 years. Outside of that, anyone worth a look at intercounty level has been given a chance. IMO.

Christ that's some drivel I'm after reading. So Cavan beat Armagh by 6 points in a replay so the only conclusion is they were lucky and would lose if we played again tomorrow. Beating Monaghan doesn't count either because we got a soft penalty (very early in the game I might add). Lost to Waterford years ago to boot (with a completely different set of players) which conclusively proves there's only about 5 teams in the country this team could beat. Fact of playing Division 2 or higher for what will be at least 6 consecutive seasons doesn't come into the reckoning. The players were bad the last day. We know that. They know better than anyone but as bad and all as they were, this sticking the boot in by supporters really sickens my hole. Golden rule seems to be- they win, doesn't count, got lucky. They lose then assassinate them. No wonder so many players pack it in with the amount of p%$#@& commenting from the sideline.

Replying To The Quiet Man:  "67 years since a senior All Ireland and many think they have bragging rights. Hammered by Tyrone that struggled to beat us last year is a backward step for sure. Yes Armagh will show us where we are at come next February one way or the other. Normally you would hear we have an easy division but I expect it's going to be a very difficult division for sure. The least that will be expected is promotion back to Division 1 this will not happen being honest."
I see it's a struggling Tyrone now. Don't bother mentioning the Tyrone annihilation of Roscommon in Super 8s. Can't be dealing with facts if they show you up as FOS. Why don't you petition to get Val in for next year. That way we can guarantee Division 3 football for 2021 and you can gloat I told you so.
