Replying To just_the_facts:  "it is hard to find a perfect structure, at least they are willing to change & try out different proposals. Some people will never be pleased. If we had a say for example, a Crossmaglen scenario where one club team was dominating year on year, no matter what the structure was - people would be whinging that it is not competitive, structure is desperate bla bla.

Is any club in ireland happy with how their players are treated ? Obv not or the CPA would not of been set up. So it is not just a Cavan issue.

Our U21's got a hiding at that grade, so bringing them into the senior squad would of benefited how ? If they don't cut it at their own grade, what makes you think they would of made the Senior panel stronger. Leave them at their own age group for the time being. Derry got annihilated also by Donegal. Perhaps Donegal is a very good team & we are not as strong as previous years.

The senior team performances were inconsistent, which was frustrating to say the least. But they are playing at a much higher level than last year, where every error is punished - so it is hard to compare apples with apples. But yes, there are elementary mistakes being made game by game by both player & management that need to be cut out or we will never proceed to the next level. We have had numerous players unavailable from last years panel for a variety of reasons & a number of injuries during certain games which have not helped our cause. We have a small pool of players & need them all fit & healthy to be competitive no matter what trophy we are aiming for.

Have you tried to propose any ideas through your club, and be constructive, or do you just come on here & look for the negative & argue about every scenario? You have all the questions about what is wrong, raise your solutions, get involved, do a coaching course, become a club delegate & make change if you are so passionate about same."
Don't you know he's doing all of the above via a fb page?

On another note do you ever have anything positive or non argumentative to say?

Every single topic you have a chip on your shoulder about it. Do you get out of bed to be offended or annoyed."
Ruins the forum Dora. But what can you do? Unfortunately, everyone's entitled to their opinion. In recent memory:
-The Super 8 is wrong because it has a group stage at the quarter final stage which no other sport has. Therefore, it can't be right.
-He doesn't know how teams will be separated if the finish level in the Championship table. That's not right, because nobody told him how it's done.
-We make up the championship as we go along he says. Inaccurate, but still worth a whinge. This also results in poor performances at provincial level.
-What happen if there's a draw...............

The annoying this that the moderators seem to pull other posts but let this rambling continue, probably as bait so the rest of get annoyed and reply.

I suppose I'm as big a mug as any.

Looking forward to the Championship, has the makings of a great competition this year. Some very strong clubs. Gaels looking good so far this year. The competition for places on their championship team will be very tough. Their Junior team could compete reasonably well in Division 1. Castlerahan and Ramor also very very strong squads. Kingscourt another team with claims and a lot will depend on the shooting boots of Barry Reilly. Those clubs to me are out on their own but a team with a prolific forward will always stand a chance against them. If McDermott can hit form this summer then Ballinagh will have a big say. Castlerahan always carry a goal threat but they need to improve on their point taking to land the big one. So on that note I'll call a Ramor and Gaels final. Ramor will want to build on last year and Gaels will feel that they have a lot to prove this year. That would make for a great final and I doubt the winner would go too overboard on the celebrations. Ulster would be ground previously covered by both teams and a decent run would be a priority with them. Don't think the rest of the clubs are as well equipped for this competition.

Ok sorry didn't realise I'm not entitled to an opinion. Playing divison 1 football will help them.

I'd imagine it will depend on when champ starts and Ulstet club draw.

Well the Cavan champions are due to meet the Antrim champions on 29th oct so that would probably mean the Co final would be played latest 15th oct.

Going by The Master Fixtures Plan the most likely dates for the Intermediate and Junior Final are scheduled for Sept 29th / Oct 1st and Senior Final October 8th / 10th.however if Cavan were beaten by Tipperary this weekend there is an option to have Intermediate and Junior Finals on Sept 22nd/24th and Senior Final September 29th/Oct 1st

Gaels back from their well deserved rest...wont be touched this year, they play football the way it should be played, full of talented young lads and a few older lads for the experience, they wont even have to get out of 2nd gear to win it.

Ramor was a once off last year, Castlerahan are the nearly men.

Well you are so confident why not go and put your house on them winning. Championship complete different story than league games.

It is great to see Cavan Gaels starting to play to their potential. The last 4-5 years there has been a lot of internal problems which hindered them.
They have a wonderful squad of players capable of playing lovely football and hopefully they can put Cavan on the Ulster Club map,

Yes a huge change at the top table was long over due.if the gaels win it this year they might not be stopped for a good few years.
