Tyrone v Cavan Ulster Semi Final Replay

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Is there any truth that the GAA in their wisdom will fix this match for midday?

Many parishes in Tyrone Cavan and Monaghan have The Blessing of the graves on that Sunday morning would 3.30 not be more appropriate?

Any thoughts which you would prefer

people still go to blessing of the graves?? People still ignoring the science and the facts? Why should the GAA once again change everything so that people can go stand around a different patch of grass instead off standing around their patch off grass

Whether people go to the blessing of the graves is irrelevent . Why can't the Ulster Council name a time 3 days later???

The GAA are probably waiting for RTE, Sky or BBC to tell them a time that suits their schedule.
10 min each way extra time would have sorted it out last Sunday. The minors had to play it so why not the seniors. The answer is €€€€€€€'s
More TV rights, more ticket sales . Last Sunday there was an official attendance of approx. 19,000. Allowing for U16's terrace tickets etc, 19,000 people paying an average of €20 per head is €380,000. There will probably be a larger crowd for the reply despite blessing of the graves across the land. A few more pay days like that and the re-development of casement Park will be paid for !

Looks like a 4pm throw-in. A Ladies match at 12 noon and Cavan v Monaghan Ladies final at 2pm. Get in early and give BOTH Cavan teams your full support!

Says the big man, you'll being saying your prayers like the rest of us when the grim reaper comes a knocking.

What science and what facts you referring to, have you read somewhere that science can now tell that there is no hereafter, that would be some achievement. Nothing like dying, finding out theres nothing on the other side and then coming back with such a great fact. Scientists are awesome

My team for replay would be
R Galligan - top class
P Faulkner - should not have been dropped
K. Clarke - best position
F. Flanagan - played well in drawn game - can switch into full back also
Ciaran Brady - cant believe he s not starting
C Moynagh - doing ok
N. Murray - big improvement from the Armagh game
G Mc Kiernan - will not be as quiet next time - he s entitled to an off day
M. Corr - playing well but so was Buchannon
C Mackey - back to his best as long as he stays in the open and avoids the traffic
D Mc Vitty - our most consistent player
M Reilly - surprising me this year ( like Mackey )
J Brady - can get scores and can take frees as well as Seanie
D Givney - superb but needs an outlet - he cant do everything up there
E Keating - worth a start - great to win ball but only passes as a last resort
First subs :
M Argue - unlucky to miss out - powerful player who can score
L. Buchannon - had a great league - should get more game time
R Dunne - not back to his best by any means - very dodgy
K Brady - seems to mix the good with the bad too often
J Mc Enroe - good to bring in
S Johnston - not playing as well as earlier in the season

So you are dropping Rory Dunne despite him marking Sean Cavanagh out of the last game??

K. Clarke - best position???? I don't believe you are getting the best out of him at full back wing half for me. Rory has to get back here if he is fit and ready.
F. Flanagan - played well in drawn game - can switch into full back also Do you think he is a corner back and become a full back ??? further out the field for me.
Ciaran Brady - cant believe he s not starting
C Moynagh - doing ok
N. Murray - big improvement from the Armagh game Well I suppose he seems to own the number 7 shirt right now.
G Mc Kiernan - will not be as quiet next time - he s entitled to an off day Midfield for sure
M. Corr - playing well but so was Buchannon Mossy has his heart in the right place, needs to keep his mouth shut and do what he does best,
C Mackey - back to his best as long as he stays in the open and avoids the traffic. Has he a full match in him these day's.
D Mc Vitty - our most consistent player
M Reilly - surprising me this year ( like Mackey ) M Reilly was injured for a long time don't forget that
J Brady - can get scores and can take frees as well as Seanie Impact sub major asset for 25 minuets.
D Givney - superb but needs an outlet - he cant do everything up there. Have to agree we need a Cavan player to pick his break downs.
E Keating - worth a start - great to win ball but only passes as a last resort

R Dunne - not back to his best by any means - very dodgy

J Mc Enroe - good to bring in I would like to see James playing with in the half forward line any of the three positions.
S Johnston - not playing as well as earlier in the season

tenyearplan (Cavan) - Posts:77 - 24/06/2016 22:04:20 18

S. Johnston has to start if not injured but not deep like last week. Stick him on the 13 to pick up Davids punch downs and he becomes a target man also. Keep him on the 13 he does know how to score and Tyrone will not take their eyes off him.

Start SJ and Jack both playing off Givney close to goal.

Best of luck to the 15 who take to the pitch next Sunday. Lets hope for an improve performance from the last day. A performance which clearly shows that this Cavan team are not afraid of anyone.

The winners of next Sunday's clash will win Ulster, lets hope it is the boys in blue!

This is TH 's last chance to silence his critics and make the big time. Whoever wins this will win Ulster. So I hope the management throw off the blinkers that cause them to indulge in favouritism. Look critically at the whole panel and use 21 players wisely and effectively to push on and beat Tyrone. Players on the field who can only give 20 minutes out of 70 need to be looked at critically, yes if a player has a good 20-30 mins play him but take him off and bring on fresh legs. When we are 1/2 points up make the changes don't wait till the team are bet and throw on subs in last 7 minutes, time and again that has been done, keep doin it and hope for a different result????it doesn't work.
Half forward and half back lines are where we are vulnerable so fix it.
Put in forwards to play off Givney, play Killian Clarke in defence. Replace Corr, Moymagh, Mackey Johnson, Mc Kiernan when ther tired don't be waitin.
Go out and win, the players are there.

I see the losers of the Monaghan/Donegal game were drawn in the qualifiers today. Why are the losers of the Cavan/Tyrone game not included?
