The gaels kicked 9 wides in the second half some very bad ones at that. They had an extra man for the last 15 mins but they still could not make it count. It was all the ref' fault for this however! Both teams got handy frees, at this level all you need is a good free taker as the amount of fouls committed are immense as players at this level can't tackle properly, Kingscourt had a good free taker the gales did not. If the gaels had scored their frees they would have won. Again this is the ref's fault!

The Gaels hadnt an extra man for the last fiftheen minutes. stephen Murray was sent of just after the Kingscourt man

The way i see it the Gaels dont become a bad team overnight- they had a couple of impressive wins leading up to last weekends game and in fairness the result could have been much different only Gavin Sheenan with a few top class saves in the second quarter kept Kingscourt ahead. If one or two goals had to go in at that stage the momentum could easily have swung in the Gaels direction. There has only been a kick of a ball between these sides in the last five or six years including last years final. However i dont think the managerial merry-go-round has done the Gaels any favours of late plus i believe they have so many players of the same standard they have no idea what their best team is which doesnt help. Best of luck to all remaining four teams - its hard to predict a winner and that can only be a good thing.

cavan gaels are not near the team they were , they have lost too many of their big name players over the last few years and have come back into the pack . Killygarry look decent but they are lacking experience . Any word on referees for these games ?

Cavanbyrd explain how killygarry lack experience?

Paddy Galligan playing senior around 13 years
Padrag Cahill ex county player around along time
Michael McGovern on the panel in 1998 when Killygarry won intermediate
Eoin Smith played county senior and playing senior football since around 2000
Ross Sheridan won Sigerson with DIT and playing senior last 6-7 years
Brendan Murray playing senior 5-6 years
Andy McGovern played underage county and around the setup since 2000 roughly
Donal Thomas ex county senior and around along time around 2000
Martin Reilly current county player and around senior set up around 10 years
Daryll McKenna playing around 10 years senior football
Add in Cathal Keaney, Thomas Leonard and Fergal Clarke plenty of experience.

Remember killygarry have contested many a county semi final with a lot of these current players so don't see your arguement

What's the problem? - they have two chances of getting to the final.

What ever you do don't put your house on it. Pressure is all on Castlerahan as they are huge favorites. I'm sticking with my overall predictions Cornafein Arva and Killyshandra in there respective championship finals.

3 clubs from the one parish in the 3 club finals would be amazing. I assume that would never have happened before?

Well I got the senior match wrong. I only found out yesterday evening that that Darragh Tighe was not playing for Killyshandra what a loss and to to only loose by 4 points was I would say because of his absents. I know many will say Castlerahan missed loads of goals but thats just an assumption. Best of luck to Castlerahan now but on last nights performance you will will not lift the senior title. So lots of room for improvement. Congratulations however on getting to the final commiserations Killyshandra you put in a great year. Sean

I highly doubt Darragh Tighe would have made much of a difference yesterday. Castlerahan controlled this game from start to finish and in all honestly should have won by 10+ points.

How they didn't score a couple of goals remains a mystery but luckily for them they didn't need to because 0-13 was always gonna be enough to get over the line here.

A tougher test awaits in the final though, Killygarry or Kingscourt will provide stiffer opposition, I'm sure of that.

Should be a cracking game in breffni today, Killygarry by 2 is my guess.

Sean that's an assumption? What? Castlerahan missed at least 6 goal chances. Miles the better team. Killeshandra have a class act in goals.

Regardless of what you think my opinion will not change Darragh was a huge loss to Killyshandra such a playmaker and the second most important player in the spine. This is my opinio and I am sticking with it. Sean

It was always going to be Castlerahan Kingscourt in the final although Killeshandra and Killygarry both gave a good account of themselves. It will be an interesting Final with both teams capable of winning. Kingscourt probably have the greater experience even though Joe Dillon will be a loss. Keith Mc Cabe is playing great football and I think Kingscourt probably have more leaders on the field. Looking forward to a good match.

I'd make Kingscourt slight favourites. Being in this position more often and have a lot of football under their belts. Castlerahan are capable of winning though.

Folks, a final to look forward to, there should be a great crowd to see how this one pans out. Lets hope the weather is kind on the day.

Clonroam I'm not from Kingscourt. I'm just giving my opinion having seen most of the championship games. I would actually like to see Castlerahan win out this year as they have a few players who have contributed a lot to Cavan football and it would be nice to see them win a senior championship. I would like whoever wins the Cavan title to go on and make an impact on Ulster.
