That was a very satisfying win last night; was proud of the lads for the way they handled the elements and played sensible football. The tackling was first rate and even the smallest of our players can take on and dispossess far bigger opponents and take catches that you wouldn't think they were entitled to. We really should have been ahead at half time which says it all against that gale.I wouldn't criticise them for packing the defence in the second half because it's far harder to control passes playing with the wind and Tyrone weren't able to use it in the first half and some of their long kicks were way off target or got mopped up by defenders. They just systematically dismantled Tyrone with controlled football and ended up just playing the ball around to run down the clock. Tyrone were a big team physically but it didn't show. Outstanding team performance and hard to find a single bad performance. I was very impressed with Aaron Watson at wing forward for his work-rate and the great defensive play and tight marking that he did all night. He's a new name on the championship team though he had a good Hastings cup; and we just seem to keep coming up with new players of quality all the time. Substitutions were first class and gave us new options straight away. I wouldn't like to be a selector at this stage but it's a problem we never had before. Happy days!

Great display all round last night and would echo the views of all the other posters. Where did young Faulkner come from? Gave a brilliant composed performance and was probably man of the match. Mick Argue once again just keeps getting better and better. 4 points again last night and the same up in Derry. Serious talent and underage again next year. Gearoid Mc Kiernan and David Givney must be getting very nervous!!
The backs were very good and played as a unit similar to our Senior defence.Hardly a weak link and as a previous poster said was impressed with young Watson in the corner.
The forwards played well and with Conor Maddeen laying down a marker when he came in competition is really hotting up. Young Tom Hayes impressed as well and is similar in stature to his brother Josh and never skirks away from a challenge.
All in all very impressed and hopefully we can take care of our friendly neighbours in the semi-final.

Always neutral semis for u21, so was never going to be in Monaghan.Clones doesn't have floodlights either. Enniskillen was the obvious venue

It will be a massive achievement if Cavan retain the Ulster U-21 this year when doing so would mean beating Derry,Tyrone,Monaghan and prob Donegal to achieve it... Top teams but the guys are a match for anyone which is brill...

Was just looking on line at interview with Peter Reilly, Cavan under 21 manager.
Very impressed with with his attitude, confident but not over confident very much aware of the big picture and what's needed to achieve success .
The interview with young Faulkner gives you an understanding of how difficult it is to get on the panel and how much it means to wear the blue jersey.
If any team management deserve reward for time, effort and restoration of pride in a county it's this present team.
Best of luck lads for the rest of the year.
