They should just tell the Gaels to keep the trophy and let all the others fight it out in the battle for relegation. There's not a team in the County that will get in any distance of the Gaels this year or indeed for the next few years.

The gaels arent exactly blowing teams away lately, beat the ballyjamesduff boys by 3 and no mackey and Flanagan, pretty sure they scraped by Killygarry too. I still think its Castlerahans year with McSweeney back. Ramor with no Ado Cole Mcenroe, young brady and barkey to name just a few dont look to be repeating there 2016 success. Dark horses, Killygarry and Crosserlough with full team.

Intermediate: Cucus by far the strongest team.

Junior: Knockbride, Denn or maybe Killinkere.

With all the signings they've made in the past 18 months Castlerahan do look strong this year. Hard to see past the Gaels tho. Ballinagh maybe the dark horse

I went to the Castlerahan Gaels match. Gaels actually beat them by 4 and should have won by 10 points plus.. they were always in control and at one stage were 7 points ahead. Mackey was missing but johnston was also missing for the gaels along with andrew graham. Both Flanagans played the whole match. Your information must be from an unreliable source.

I was also at the last few Gaels matches - they were missing 6/7 against Killygarry, Dunne was on the bench, it was a close match but the Gaels managed it very well and pulled away comfortably in the end.

The Castlerahan game was an easier game for the Gaels, could've won by a lot more, Castlerahan missing Mackey but the Gaels missing a few too.

I can say hand on heart, no team will touch the Gaels this year, they're unbeaten in the league in 2017/2018 and havent even started at full pelt yet, can see them blowing Killygarry away in the first round.

Johnson came on so he did. Mackey missing, McSweeney and Cormac Daly. Wright went of injured and Castlerahan had a red card. Castlerahan were closing the gap and well on top when red card happened.

Johnston came on for ten minutes. Them lads were also missing in last years county final...............

End of the day man for man the Gaels are a stronger outfit and have proven that to all of the county. Gaels had them at arms lenght all game. Castlerahan scored a brilliant goal. What was the gaels reaction? straight back up the field and scored one themselves.

Castlerahan's year for what exactly?

There's more of a chance of Jim Gavin giving up the Dublin job to come and manage Cavan than there is of Castlerahan beating the Gaels in the Championship.

There was big talk of them going up to Terry Coyle last week to set out their stall and they were sent home with their tails between their legs. Same as last years County Final, the Gaels toyed with them for most of it.

HOLD ON!! Did nobody tell Castlerahan the gaels are unbeatable??? As ive said before, gaels are championship ready from the first league game and beating teams well who are only getting started but as the weeks get closer and teams prepare more and more the gap to the gaels closes very fast and you could see that in recent weeks.

They were always going to lose at some stage. Their lack of discipline was a shock though. Standing beside a Gaels supporter and he was sickened.

A small blip, but in fairness to Castlerahan, they took their chances, but aside from that, the Gaels were coasting at half time and looked unbeatable, they became complacent and indiscipline didn't help, had the two players remained on the pitch, the Gaels would've won it. They were missing a few important players as well, so I'll stand my statement that no team will touch them for the championship.

The sending offs made no difference. Castlerahan dominated the second half and Gaels only scored three points. Were both teams not missing players?

Castlerahan were in firm command long before the red cards, they had no significant influence on the result. I have to say I was amazed at how the gaels imploded, their indiscipline was appalling.

Both sides have big players to come back in. Wright and mcsweeney for castlerahan, jelly, the Murrays and Barry fortune for the gaels. are Maloney derham and niall smith on the scene this year? Did damage in the county final last year if i recall

One thing for certain is if the Gaels were going to be complacent, that's not going to happen now. Might even make them stronger come championship.

They weren't in firm control, the Gaels simply became complacent, and the red cards made it more difficult for them. As I said Castlerahan fully deserved their victory, but had the Gaels kept 15 men on the field, it could've been a different result.

Both players were missing players, however, with the two Murrays back and Jelly back, Niall Smith was on the bench, they will be a different team come Championship. If there's one thing about the Gaels, they will learn and improve from last nights result, some of their movement in the first half was fantastic and blew Castlerahan at times, whereas Castlerahan were finding it hard to get scores at times.

I stand my statement, Gaels will ease through the Championship once again.
