Replying To royal69er:  "I think you'll find the issue us meath fans have is the fact it was not called off until 1.5 hours before throw in. I knew there was gonna be a lot of rain in cavan because there was a yellow rain warning, what I didnt know was your pitch wouldnt be able to take it. It seems you guys knew the pitch couldnt take it but weren't aware of the weather alerts."
What a load of nonsense. You cannot call off a match on the promise of rain. The pitch was playable earlier so it couldn't be called off. Serious rain 2 hrs before the game done the damage. If you're so clued up in Meath on what the weather will do then why did you even bother driving to Cavan in the first place seeing as firstly the game was on TV and secondly you know everything. Go away and whinge somewhere else.

Refreshing to see the armchair critics out with the pitchforks, if only they could actually volunteer and do something.
Anyway, this game being postponed adds an extra intensity to the fixture, looking at the other results today a win for either team will put them top. Wouldn't rule out a draw either but a win for Cavan here is massive

Another week of extra fitness for Gearoid and Mackey too.

Probably good for everyone. Some snow now and a weather warning has increased. I have a hospital urgent appoint in the morning in the Mater looks like I am going to miss it and I cannot be missing this appointment I can only hope they will take me later this week. The CIE bus does not stop at the Mater anymore.
Please god the weather will be suitable for next weekend and if the county pitch is not playable they might have to look for another venue but let's hope this does not happen.

I have heard nothing like everyone else I thin it will be next weekend the O'Byrne cup will be moved to another date I would think. I don't expect Croke Park will want a back up of matches. I expect the CCCC will meet today on this. Just my opinion.

Global warming lads..dont care what Bush or Heal-Rae think, but the days of the dry winters are long one, so time for the GAA to scrap the National League and all the mickey mouse cups leading up to it. Imagine how beneficial it would be to players if they only had to play championship football.
Lets face it, the National League for the big teams is nothing more than challenge matches to break in new players and try out different things, whilst the little teams like Cavan, start training from the previous October, hit peak fitness during the National League and are burnt out come Championship.

Didnt realise George Bush had an opinion on Irish Winters or the fortunes of GAA teams in Ireland. You learn something new every day. You do realise, game have been cancelled due to bad weather before dont you?

Sigerson and O'Byrne Cup finals next weekend. Could be upsetting too many people to have it then and rock the boat. There was another scheduled break for weekend of March 10/11th. This seems the most likely weekend to me or am I missing something.

Next Sunday at 2pm it is so. Lets hope it stays dry or there will be some amount of finger pointing.

Well it's playable yes. But they could look at the likes of Newry too. The game has to be played somewhere this weekend.

Kingscourt?

If it's not played somewhere this weekend, it will likely be played on a weekday in between games. I would hazard a guess that neither team wants this..

Play it down in Shannon Gaels ground. Be a nice day trip for the Meathmen. See a bit of the countryside

We'll play it when it allows, same as every other county.

Meath suporters seem to be very concerned over climate change!

I dont think that we in Cavan, no matter how bad the times have ever been, have really doubted that on any given day, we can beat the Royals.

Our neighbours seem to be a bit unsettled with all this.

Sincere congratulations to our county board for fixing the weather - it seems to have done the trick! : )
