Cork pair Aidan Walsh and Ciaran Sheehan are set to miss the second International Rules test against Australia.

Walsh's club Kanturk are due to take on Sheehan and his Eire Og team-mates in the Cork IHC final on Sunday, October 27th - the day after Ireland's second test against the Aussies in Croke Park.

The Irish Examiner reports that both clubs indicated their preference that the game go ahead as scheduled at last night's County Board Committee.

Secretary Frank Murphy reminded the clubs in question that their stance effectively means both players will have to withdraw their services from the international squad and that the County Executive would not be happy with such an outcome.

As things stand, the game is scheduled to be played as the curtain-raiser to the Cork SHC final.
