Delegates at this week's Clare County Board meeting have been informed that income from their national hurling league campaign was down by €127,000 from 2016 reports the Clare Champion.
Last year, the county's return from both the hurling and football leagues was €231,000, however, this year the hurling only brought in €67,742.99, while the football was €42,724.40.
The county board made a €10,500 profit from a recent race meeting in Limerick, but treasurer Bernard Keane admitted that they thought more would have been made.
"We had hoped to make more from this but it was a great success, coming just three days after we bowed out of the championship. It's something we need to look at in more detail for the future," stated Keane.
