Clare chairman targets All-Ireland

Clare County Board chairman Michael McDonagh says the Banner County will be aiming for All-Ireland glory now that Donal Og Cusack is on board.

Davy Fitzgerald has pulled off a major coup by adding the former Cork goalkeeper to his backroom team and McDonagh is excited by the prospect of the pair of All-Ireland winning custodians linking up together in 2016:

"The marker is down now and our main aim next year is to win an All-Ireland," he states in The Irish Examiner.

"We've an exceptional backroom team put together and we've to let them go ahead now and do the business.

"He [Cusack] has shown a solid commitment to Clare and he's laid down a marker as to what he intends to do. He's not resigning from RTÉ nor the GPA unless he means business. He has played hurling at the highest grade, he knows what it's like to win and that's what he will hopefully bring, that extra bit of steel."
