Clare selector Ger Keane believes that the defeat to Louth was a reality check for them.

Having convincingly beaten Wexford in the opening round of the Division Three campaign, Clare came undone against Louth as the Wee County pulled off a merited win.

Clare are back in action this weekend when they host Sligo at Cusack Park and Keane told the Clare Champion that they are more focused this time around.

"The Louth match was a reality check for everyone, players, management and supporters. Maybe everyone got a little carried away after the Wexford game, but we always knew the league was going to be tight," said Keane.

"There isn't much between the teams and they are all going to take points off each other. The lads have worked hard since the last match and everyone is fairly focused now for the Sligo game."
