Peter Duggan is happy to see Donal Moloney and Gerry O'Connor continue as joint-managers of the Clare hurling team.

The pair will be ratified for a third season in charge at next month's county board meeting after guiding the Banner to the brink of an All-Ireland SHC final appearance this year.

“We always knew they were going to stay on,” top-scorer Duggan told the Irish Examiner at the  launch of the Fenway Hurling Classic 2018 yesterday.

“I think they might just be looking for someone else (for the backroom team) or something. I think that’s the only reason it didn’t come out immediately that they were coming straight back involved.

“They’re hungry. They’d stay going until they’re told that you’re not going any longer. They always have that bite in them.”
