I think as supporters of Cavan gaa we need to stand up and be heard. What happened in Wexford yesterday was a joke and our season from what I seen yesterday will only get worse. We need all the experience we can get in order to progress or show signs of progression. This topic isnt a discussion, it's basically a petition to have all the experienced players called back in.

So sign here, Dermot Sheridan's experience as a defender would have helped us against Wexford.

Listen to the managers post match comments where he talks about lack of experience . But what he fails to mention is he got rid of the experience we had, YES Mackey, Lyng, Sheridan, Clarke, Johnstone, Smith should ALL be on the panel still.


Look at the supposedly "hard to handle" players this weekend............Nicky Joyce stormer for Galway. Owen Mulligan brilliant for Tyrone.. Class acts.

Loads of chances created and missed. Management didn't know what to do with the extra man. If Johnston had been there we could have won that game. We really do need him back and management should approach him and make sure he doesn';t leave !!

We never did anything when we had those players playing for us so what makes you think we would do any better if they came back? We need to put our faith in youth. A couple of years ago we beat Roscommon by 13 points in the first round of the league. We did nothing for the rest of the year and Roscommon managed to win the Connaught Championship. We are better off finding out our weakness in the first round of the league rather than the first round of the championship. Our young players should improve as they gain senior experience.

Anyhow, i think the whole Johnson saga has left a taste in the mouth and some people are blinded by it. I think we all need to calm down and put a bit of perspective on it. The annoyance with the Johnson debacle has nothing to do with us loosing against Wexford. Why we lost to Wexford is that we have a newer team after the manager cleared the dressing room, mostly young and inexperienced who need work as a team and we are also in the first week of February.
It would be an absolute criminal offence after getting to an all-ireland U21 final if some of those players were not brought into the senior setup. Don't get me wrong, i am not the most avid Andrews fan but you have got to give him some time to build a team considering the changes to the panel..
