It's absolutely not true to say we don't have quality players.

We have lads playing on Sigerson cup teams across the country with the best of inter-county players. For too long we've dismissed our poor form as "not having the players". The players are there. Look at Monaghan, a smaller county than us with a much smaller pick, but a top 6 team. No excuses. ESPECIALLY after winning 5 underage titles in the province recently.

Well we are getting carried away with what we have and the truth is we don't have the talent to compete at the highest level. It might hurt many to read this but try and be realistic and look at the 35 odd players currently on the panel and there is not one good enough to play at the highest level. If they were to be placed in the junior intermediate or senior standard it would be safe to say we would be in the lower division of intermediate standard. It would be nice to say that we could win the Anglo Celt trophy or the great Sam in the next ten years this current panel will win neither, one dimensional so predictable.

I think that things have improved but by how much i'm not sure.

I don't put any weighting to reaching the all-ireland quarter final last year as the teams we beat to get there did worse this year in the championship than we did.

In saying that we played better football in last years championship than the joke that was this year.

We got promotion which was a goal for this year and well done to all involved in that. However the performances in the league were a worry and unfortunately continued into the championship.

For next year if the style of play continues we will do well to win a game in Division 2.
