I am sure the leagues that are running now must have been voted on by the all the clubs is this not the case ?????

No, the clubs voted for a different league format but the county board overruled them

Other League Format reduced number of league fixtures to 14 with Clubs guaranteed County Players for 11. The current format guarantees them for 9 and it is a complete farce, according to everyone on here. Wonder how many more midweek fixtures would be necessary if 2 more rounds were with County Players...Also, If you asked all the Clubs who have players on the County U-21 and Senior Panels if they would be happy to play more games without them, i very much doubt they would be jumping at the chance, regardless of all other players in there Club. An E.G.M is a fine idea in theory but what can change this year, at this point?? Clubs were unanimous in there wish to have the League over prior to the Championship and no more Football in November/ December. Regardless of which format the league took, the only way to achieve that without midweek games is more games without County Players which brings me back to Clubs with County Players not wanting to play without them! I enjoy a good rant as well as the next poster but no one seems to be coming up with any solutions.

The other format was actually 13 games and considering our league starts in early February and the the maximum number of championship games is 6 (excluding replays) it is not unreasonable to expect that 19 league and championship matches could be played over the 30 weekends between February 16th and November 1st. Instead we have 24 matches to be played and u 21 and senior panels holding 40 players from clubs every other weekend, full rounds of fixtures being called off without even giving clubs the option to play without county players, a round of matches fixed for a bank holiday Monday because of a county challenge match and 2 or 3 rounds of Wednesday night games during exam periods in college. Furthermore, the cavan team management is so busy protecting their players yet fail to see it's completely counter productive for county players to play Wednesday, Saturday, Monday, 3 matches in 5 days and then the the clubs are blamed when players get injured thus justifying the decision to pull another round of fixtures, refinxing it for another midweek, extending the vicious circle, To say people are just ranting and no one is coming up with a solution, here's one, the county board should listen to clubs, quit playing lip service and run a democratic organisation instead of a dictatorship. To be honest at this stage I think it would be better if the county management selected 30 players at the start of the year and the club league moved on without them playing any part from start to finish. It may seem unfair on some clubs but it would be better than the current farce that exists and at least every club could plan for the year knowing what they have to work with.

Your "solution" only works if Clubs play more games, that count for promotion, without County players! if CLubs are so willing to go ahead with games without them, why is that not exactly what is happening now? I can't imagine Clubs have put this to the County board and the powers that be have refused to allow it. If that's the case, of course we should just start on March 1st, schedule 14 League Rounds 1 week after another and get it out of that way. But back now to reality and my orginal point, Clubs are not willing to play games of any importance without all there players, especially the County lads. Even if 1 or 2 are, that is the height of it.

Fair play to county board if the rumors are true . The promotion games due to be played on Wednesday next moved to sunday and the breffini league moved to Wednesday . This is the right approach . We give out about them but fair play .

Well said kinglarry, credit where it is due, a common sense approach to help clubs out and also make a fairer league as every player should be able to make it home for sunday matches as opposed to wednesday evenings

yet, they are only rumours at this stage. when will we be told for definite? What bout people who might have it booked off and the later it drags on, the less chance they have off being able to work due to cover being organised/holidays confirmed. They need to stop messing around and quit changing things at the last minute
