Official Opening    

See you all at 8.45pm on this Wednesday May 24th for  the official opening and blessing of our new dressing rooms, crush barriers, and the beautiful stand mural crafted by Colin Wood. Uachtarán Cumann Luthchleas Gael, Aogán Ó Fearghaíl will officiate, and Fr Gerry Mac/Cormack PP will be in attendance to bless our grounds . Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.  Everyone is welcome!     

Exams 

Best of luck to all the young club members who are sitting exams in the next few weeks, especially Junior cert and Leaving Cert. The annual exam Mass is on next Sunday at 12pm in Kingscourt church and all students and their families are urged to attend! 

Schools Ulster Final 

Comhghairdeas to captain Kerri Mc Cormack and the St Louis Convent U14 girls on winning the Schools Ulster B U14 Final against Holy Trinity, Cookstown last Monday in Armagh. Well done girls!! 

Ladies    

Ulster U16 A ladies final Cavan 6.08 Antrim 1.07. Ulster U14 A ladies final Cavan 3.09 Monaghan 2.09. Huge congratulations girls especially Stars Kerri McCormack, Shannen McCormack and Lauren Patterson. Two Ulster medals for U14 player Kerri McCormack in the one week! What a massive achievement!           

Féile   

John West Féile Peile na nÓg takes place on 23rd-25th June. It is hoped to make the visitors trip to Kingscourt  a most memorable one. The girls will host Derrynoose of Armagh (near Culloville), and the boys will host  St. Nicholas GAA from Dunlavin/Dunard in Wicklow. Hosting is a big part of Féile and we sincerely thank all the families in the community that have agreed to take in visiting players. As part of the Féile celebrations,  Fr. Gerry will say Mass at 6pm on the Saturday for our club and it is hoped that every club member will attend in Star's  club colours. All help from Club Members would be welcome on the Féile weekend!.   

 

Cavan U17s   

 Cavan U17s, including Kevin Curtis and Cian Shekleton, will play Tyrone on 11th June in the Ulster final. This will be a curtain raiser to the Ulster SFC game with Cavan v Monaghan.  

Lotto            

Lotto held in Dún a Rí. Lotto no's drawn 4; 5; 16; 29.  No jackpot winner.  Next week's jackpot €5,800 Draw in M&Fs.  . Additional help appreciated on Sunday night  as an extra pub on lotto circuit.

Seniors                   

ACFL Div 1 Saturday May 27th 7pm V Gowna away!   Reserve ACFL played last Sunday Kingscourt 0-16 Ballyhaise 0-13. Next junior game V Castlerahan away Sunday May 28th at 12pm. All senior fixtures and results may be viewed at www.kingscourtstars.gaa.ie.             

 

 Juveniles          

 Under 14 Div 3 league Templeport 3.09 Kingscourt 2.08. Next U14 game V St Finbars at home on Friday at 6.45pm.  Training for under 6 and 8's  on Juvenile pitch every Saturday morning at 10am sharp, all children are welcome and any parents willing to help coach also welcomed.  Remember gum shields are obligatory! Our club asks parents to encourage their children to partake in training and games and to support our juveniles by attending matches and supporting the players and opponents.        

 Hurling               

Under 6/8/10; We will continue training and games through the month. Our next scheduled game for U10s is in Kells on Tuesday 30th May. Under 12; The next round of the Monaghan Hurling League sees us take on new opposition in Truagh Gaels in Kingscourt on Monday evening at 6.45. All support very welcome. Under 14; The lads had a good competitive game on Wednesday last v Castleblayney in Kingscourt but came out on the wrong side of a good game. We will now take on the same opposition in the league final. Date, time and venue tbc. Under 16; These lads play their first competitive game of the season in Kingscourt on Monday where they will take on Truagh Gaels in the Monaghan league at 8pm. Best of luck to all. Adult Hurling; Will commence when the Leaving Cert is completed to give our boys the opportunity to join in. County; The U17 Celtic Challenge squad went down to a talented Louth team on Wednesday but gave a good account of themselves. Next up is Meath Kings on Saturday next with the final regular round the following Wednesday against Longford. ECG men getting plenty of county experience. Well done lads. Under 6/8/10 training every Thursday in community centre in Kingscourt from 6.45pm­ - 7.45pm. €3 each please. Kellogg's Cúl Camps            

Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls - between the ages of 6 and 13 - with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games. Camp will take place in Kingscourt on July 10th to July 14th.
