Sympathy 

The club extends its sincerest condolences to Sean Farrelly, committee member and senior selector, on the recent death of his mother , Kathleen, who was in her 92nd year and was laid to rest last Friday. 

Annual Spring Clean  

April is National Annual Spring Clean month and Cavan captain, Killian Clarke is the ambassador for Cavan.  Kingscourt Tidy Towns Annual Spring clean takes place on next Saturday 1st April, and it is hoped that the Club will give a hand for just 1 hour on that morning. This will be a chance to give a little back to the community, while showing an example of pride in our town. Players and all club members are asked to help out and meet at the Market square at 9.30am. Bags, gloves, etc will be provided. Club will take charge of Corrygarry down to the entrance to the pitch!  

Cavan U21's            

Best of luck top Peter Corrigan and the Cavan U21 team that take on Donegal on Wednesday at 8pm in Brewster Park. 

 Cavan Minors   

Cavan defeated  Down 2:15 to 2:11 last Saturday in the Ulster minor league. They now play Monaghan next Saturday at 12pm in Kingspan Breffni Park. Good luck to all the panel including Shane Duffy, Paddy Meade, Cian Shekleton and Kevin Curtis.  

 Féile 2017 

The John West Féile Peil na nÓg 2017 takes place from Friday 23rd June - Sunday 25th June in Cavan, Fermanagh and Monaghan.  Our club will host both girls and boys teams, and  families are needed to accommodate these players over the weekend. Áine Gogarty is coordinating the visiting boys, and Kieran Smith will coordinate the visiting girls. Please contact either of them if you are interested in taking two or more boys or girls. This promises to be a great weekend for all players and their parents, and it is important that we extend a warm hospitality to all the visitors.    

Kellogg's Cúl Camps   

Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls - between the ages of 6 and 13 - with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games. Camp will take place in Kingscourt on July 10th to July 14th. Lotto   

Lotto held in M&Fs. Numbers drawn 5; 10; 17; 21  .  No jackpot winner. Draw next week takes place in Freemans for a jackpot of  €4200  Additional help needed  as an extra pub on lotto circuit.

Seniors          

Result of the first round of the reserve ACFL div 1  Kingscourt 1:12, Crosserlough 2:12. Next round V Cúchulainns next Saturday April 1st at 6pm at home. Managers of the reserve team are Ryan McCormack, Darragh McMahon and Gavin Sheanon. Round 1 of the  ACFL Div 1 will be played next Saturday April 8th V Mullahoran at 6pm away. All senior fixtures and results may be viewed at www.kingscourtstars.gaa.ie.     

Ladies     

Kingscourt girls U17 V Lacken Tuesday 28th at 6.45pm in Ballinagh, please support. Hard luck to our senior ladies who were defeated in the 9 a side league by Crosserlough and Knockbride on Friday and Sunday respectively. Congratulations to  Holly Lynch, Amy Rooney and the Cavan ladies who defeated Sligo by 2:13 to 2:3 yesterday. 

Training for U15 and U17 girls every Tuesday 6.40pm to 8pm. New players welcome.  

 Juveniles       

U16 league starts Wednesday April 5th V Lavey away at 7pm. U12 Spring League starts Tuesday April 11th; U14 league starts Friday May 12th.  Training will be provided. Remember gum shields are obligatory!              

Allianz League   

  Next game of the Div 1 league V Roscommon next Sunday at 2pm in Hyde Park. 

Minors   

Minors are now joint 3rd in the league with 6 points. Next game V Blackwater Gaels at home on Saturday April 8th   

Hurling            

It is planned to start adult club hurling . Anyone interested in helping  be it as a player, coach/manager, administration etc is very welcome to join the setup. We hope to start training at the end of April and our friends at Ulster GAA will make some of their coaches available to help get the ball rolling. Please spread the word out in the local community. GAA Gaeltacht Scholarships  

Interviews will be held in Hotel Kilmore on Saturday April 29th between 10am and 1pm for students wishing to avail of a scholarship.

Gaeltacht Scholarships   

Cavan County Council is delighted to offer a number of Gaeltacht Scholarships for the Coláiste na bhFiann Colleges: If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, application forms are available through the secondary schools in County Cavan, please ask your Irish teacher.  All scholarship forms should be returned before Friday 7th April 2017 to Johnston Central Library, Farnham St. Cavan.
