Corlough GAA club notes

March 27, 2017

Cavan done us proud

Great credit to the Cavan senior team who put it up to Kerry last Sunday in Kingspan Breffni park, the sun shone down on a hugh crowd that was gathered to watch both our own men and of course the men from the mighty kingdom of Kerry, it was a fantastic achievement to get draw out of a hard fought intriguing game.  As part of a Cavan county board initiative we had a group of men that left from Corlough on a glorious Sunday morning, Kilmore bound, there they were wined and dined and listened to some great speakers including guest speaker Mícheál Muircheartaigh, they were then chauffeured over to the match and had the best seats in the house. We thank Tom Reilly for all his hard work with this project and we hope this initiative continues.  The following men travelled from Corlough GAA club: Paddy McManus, Sean Prior, Michael Heavey, Tommy Brennan, Hugh McGovern, Paddy Archbold, PJoe McGovern & Liam Kelleher, Michael McGovern (Summerhill) and Gene McGovern.

We also had a very special mascot from Corlough Reece Prior who was lead out by captain Killian Clarke and was treated to a wonderful reception by Cavan County board along with his heroes from the Cavan team, it is wonderful to see our County board leading by example by taking good care of both our older and younger supporters.
