safeTALK and ASIST

The safeTALK is a half day suicide awareness course whereas the ASIST is a two day skills based suicide intervention course - it's the next level of training in suicide prevention and teaches people skills they can use to directly support someone they may come in contact with who is actively suicidal. The safeTALK teaches people how to ask the question and connect them to professional help to  keep them safe. With the ASIST, they also would be asking the question but then applying skills learned to help keep the person safe and then helping to get them more help if necessary. Places are available for September courses in the Cavan area.
