Ballinagh GAA club notes

June 21, 2016

Golf Classic
Ballinagh hosted their 2016 Golf Classic on Friday last at Cavan golf course and it turned out to be a very successful day. The weather stayed dry and the 30 odds teams enjoyed near perfect conditions for the competition. The winners were the Slieve Rossa Bar Cavan team who take the excellent top prize of a round of golf and overnight stay at the famous Carton House. Ballinagh would like to thank everybody who contributed to our day by putting in teams, sponsoring tee boxes and donating prizes as well as everyone who helped out on the day especially our main sponsor Imperial Bar Cavan and Cavan Golf Course for being excellent hosts. A list of those who sponsored is currently up in the dressing rooms

Cavan
A huge congratulations to Conor Barry and the Cavan ladies on recording a famous 1-9 to 1-8 victory over Donegal in Tyrone on Saturday. The win places Cavan in their first ever senior Ulster final and will face neighbours Monaghan. The ladies should be extremely proud of their achievement and will now look to knuckle down and prepare for the Ulster decider. Elsewhere the men held a strong Tyrone side to a draw in an exciting encounter in the Ulster semi-final in Clones on Sunday on a score line of 3-7 to 0-16 with a late goal from David Givney meaning the two sides must duel again in Clones on the 3rd of July. A big well done to the locals involved Joanne, Niall and Thomas.

Lotto Results
The numbers drawn for the week ending 13/6/16 were 3-6-9-15, there was no jackpot winner. The winners of €25 were; Vincent Brady C/O The Tank, Seamus Hyland Ballinagh, Niall Corcoran, James Duffy Garrymore. The losing ticket drawn this week to be entered into the draw for a weekend away at the end  of the month was Gerry O'Reilly Belville. Next week's Jackpot is €1'400.
