Denn G.F.C. Legends Cup
The Denn Legends Cup tournament kicked off last weekend with some great matches played. First up was Ballyhaise against Castlerahan with Ballyhaise coming out on top by one goal 2-7 to 1-7.  Next up was Mullahoran and Lavey and after a tough battle Lavey came away with the win by the narrowest of margins 1-7 to 1-6. Last match of the day was Killygarry and Drumalee which was close up until the very end when Killygarry pulled away to win 3-5 to 1.-7.  On Sunday Morning Local Rivals Denn and Crosserlough took to the pitch which turned out to be the closest of all the games.  After a very tightly contested and entertaining game the full time score was 7 points a piece so extra time was needed.  After 10 minutes of extra time the score was still tied at 8 points a piece so in a GAA first we had a penalty shoot out which Crosserlough won 4-1. The tournament concludes this weekend with the Cup and Shield Semi Finals and Finals on Saturday 27th June starting at 4.30pm.  The line up for the day is as follows; 4.30pm - Shield Semi Finals. Denn v Castlerahan, Mullahoran v Drumalee. 5.30pm - Cup Semi Finals. Killygarry v Lavey , Crosserlough v Ballyhaise. 6.30pm - Shield Final . 7.30pm - Cup Final. Proceeds from the tournament will be given to our two Charities SOSAD and The Irish Heart Foundation who will be present on the day to provide any information on Mens Health. Again Entry to games will be free but any donations will be accepted at the gate. There will be face painting and other activities to keep the kids occupied. Their will be a presentation and BBQ in the Carraig Springs later that evening which will finish of proceedings. The event is being Co sponsored by Mc Daids Pharmacy Group who are helping with health education information packs for all players that take part.  Come along and support your legends team and take the opportunity to renew acquaintances which may have been lost over years.
