Club Lotto
The latest Cavan Gaels lotto draw was held on Sunday last 26 April in Blessing's Bar. The jackpot was €2500. The numbers drawn were 12, 19, 20, 23. There was one jackpot winner. The winner was Brian Masterson who bought his lotto in the Farnham Arms Hotel. Congratulations to Brian. Next week's jackpot will be €1000 and the draw will take place on Sunday night next 3 May in the Farnham Arms Hotel. All club members are asked to support the lotto and to arrange that they are in for every lotto draw. Our lotto  can be bought from Crowe's Butchers, Dunne's Bar, Veale's Pharmacy, Cavan Gifts, Maudis, McGinnity's Bar, Slieve Rossa, Luna Bar, Abbey Bar, Smith's Footwear, The Farnham Arms Hotel, Blessing's Bar, McMahon's Bar or from any lotto committee member. There is also a facility for paying a yearly lotto subscription in advance. Information on this and other lotto matters can be obtained from John Smith at 086-6029308.A word of thanks to all those teams who organise our lotto, to all the sellers and especially to all those who have supported our lotto in such great numbers.

Senior League 1A

Well done to our division 1A team who defeated Mullahoran by three points in Terry Coyle Park on Sunday last. Although both teams were short some regulars, the players provided some competitive fare for the attendance. The fact that the visitors had to play with fourteen men for much of the game tilted the balance in favour of the home team. There were some fine displays on both sides.

Division Three

Our youthful division three team found the going tough against the visiting Kildallan side on Sunday last. We got off to a decent start but the visitors gradually forged ahead and were well ahead at half time. Commendably we did rally for a while in the second half. Kildallan, however, finished strongly and ran out deserving winners.

Bingo

Our bingo supporters are asked to note that our bingo on Friday next 1 May will take place in the Farnham Arms Hotel carvery at 9pm. Please note the venue. Thanks to our bingo patrons for their consistent support and to all our stewards. Our club lotto is on sale at bingo every Friday night.

Golf Classic

Golfers within the club are asked to note that our annual golf classic will take place in County Cavan Golf Club on Friday 10 July. If you have a team for this event or want to help out in any way please contact Joe Johnston or J.J. Reilly. It is hoped that this year many of those who played in our classic in the past will again take part this year. This year's golf classic is again kindly sponsored by Donal Keogan, The Imperial Lounge.

Basketball Success

Well done to the North Eastern Knights basketball team who were successful in the Celtic Basketball league in Edinburgh recently. In particular, congratulations to Abbie Fee who was on this successful basketball team. Abbie plays her football with Cavan Gaels. Comhghairdeas.

Referees

The county board are keen to recruit new referees at all levels. Those who are keen to take the course for new referees are asked to give their name to club secretary Louis Blessing at 086-7227923. Also we are keen to recruit young boys and girls to take the Young Whistlers' Course. More information can be obtained from Louis Blessing.

Terry Coyle Park Development/Friends of Cavan Gaels

Work is well advanced on our new development in Terry Coyle Park. Our new shop and turnstiles are already in operation. Thanks to all those who have already supported our development through becoming Friends of Cavan Gaels. The money from this source along with our Sports' Capital Grant has enabled us to proceed with the building. We urge others who have not joined so far to consider signing up in the knowledge that, by so doing, they will be making a significant contribution, not only to the Terry Coyle Park development, but to the long term development of our young boys and girls.

U14

Hard luck to our u14s who were defeated away to Killygarry on Thursday evening last in a high scoring game.
