Ladies Football : This is the last week for the clothing collection.  We can accept black bags of clothes, shoes, handbags, towels, teddies, curtains and bedding(no duvets). Bags can be left at the pitch Wednesday 7-8pm and Saturday morning between 10-12.  Thank you for your continued support.

Lotto : There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 7, 10, 17 and 29. the €40 winners were Willie Duignan, Corr; Mary Mulligan, Loughdavan; Yvonne Myles, Stragelliffe; Pamela King, C/O Dominic King; Oisin,Megan, Eirn and Rian, C/O Anne Gaffney. Next weeks lotto jackpot is now €5500.

Death of Mrs Brigid Burns : The death has taken place of Mrs Brigid Burns of Drumbess. She was in her early eighties and had been in failing health for some time. She was a deeply religious woman and had a kind and pleasant manner. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene some years ago.

Sincere sympathy is extended to her family, son Pat, daughters Geraldine, Breda, Mary, Caroline and Annette, grandchildren and extended family. Her funeral was in the Church of the Immaculate Conception Coronea. Rev Dan Sheridan PP officiated.
Whist: The next Cornafean whist drive takes place in McSeain's on Monday next 6th of October starting at 9pm sharp. New card players always welcome, with super served.

Race Night : The Annual Cornafean GFC night at the races, took place last Saturday in McSeain's lounge and was a huge success. The race night committee and club would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed to making the night possible, to all those who bought horses and provided sponsorship for the races we thank you sincerely without all the generous support fundraisers like this would not be possible. The 11th annual Gallant 15km Challenge in aid of St Christopher's Hospice Cavan takes place Saturday 25th October 2014. Main sponsor is MacManus Pharmacies Cavan. People can either walk, run or cycle the 15km from Cavan to Cornafean or choose the smaller course of Ballinagh to Cornafean. Over the previous 10 years the Challenge has been an outstanding success raising 289,000 euro for this wonderful cause.
