East Cavan Gaels GAA club notes

August 25, 2014

Hurling/Camogie Camp 2014;
Our second Hurling/Camogie camp in conjunction with Cavan GAA was again an outstanding success. With over 90 boys and girls in attendance each day is shows the demand for the games locally. We thank Eoin Morrissey and coaching staff, Cavan GAA, Paul Divilly, Ulster GAA, Ger Gribben, Camogie Development, Tipperary GAA Hurling stars Niall O'Meara and Paddy Stapleton and Mary O'Connor, Director of Camogie Development and all the volunteers and helpers who made it such a great week. Thanks also to our good friends at Bailieborough Shamrocks for the use of their fine facilities. Roll on 2015!
Development draw;
To continue the work of developing hurling in the region we have our annual draw for 2 Premium Level tickets to the All-Ireland Hurling Final. Lines are just €2 and we look forward to the local communities continuing support for hurling. Lines/cards are available from all players, managers, coaches and mentors. Good Luck!
U12/14/16;
Our Under 13s were a little unlucky to lose to our old nemesis Lisbellaw, after two periods of extra time, in the Shield semi-final of the summer league on Wednesday last. This brings to an end the summer portion of hurling and focus now shifts to the U12, U14, and U16 League/Championships which roll out over the next weeks.
Our first ever Under 16 squad will make their debut in the league near the end of August.
South Ulster Development Squad;
The very best of luck to the ECG contingent on both the U14 and U16 squads as they head for national blitzes on Saturday next.
