Belturbet club notes
July 30, 2014Our seniors defeated Killinkere by 2-10 to 0-8 in Division 2 League Promotion Game in Rory O'Moore Park on Friday evening last. We held a slender 0-4 to 0-3 half time lead and two second half goals from Barry O'Reilly put the seal on our eight point victory which maintains our 100% league record from seven matches played. This game marked the competitive return to action of Brendan Fitzpatrick, everyone in the club is delighted to have such a talented player back in the team. Subs: Brendan Fitzpatrick(0-2), Niall O'Reilly. We have two remaining league matches left this year at home to Arva and away to Laragh Utd.
Intermediate Championship
Best of luck to our seniors who kick off their championship campaign this Friday night v Kill in Kingspan Breffni Park at 8pm.
Minors
Our Minors will compete in the Minor C Championship. We are away to the winners of Knockbride or Drumgoon in Round 1 of the championship. Date: TBC.
U16's
Our U16's had a very impressive 4-10 to 3-11 win over Denn in the Division 2 U16 Championship in Rory O'Moore Park on Thursday evening last. Well done to the players and management.
Cavan U16's
Congratulations to the Cavan U16's team and management on winning the Gerry Reilly Cup Final in Oldcastle, Meath on Sunday evening last when they defeated Dublin by 1-16 to 1-8.
Cavan Senior Ladies
Congratulations to Caron Fay, Sarah Murray and the Cavan Senior Ladies who impressively defeated Meath by 1-15 to 0-13 in Pairc Tailteann, Navan on Saturday evening last. Caron made a superb save from a first half penalty and made several fine saves during the game. Cavan Ladies now meet Laois in Round 2 of the All Ireland Qualifiers.
Committee Meeting
July Club Committee Meeting take place tomorrow night Thursday at 8.30 p.m in the clubrooms. All members are asked to please attend.
Cul Camps
The Kellogg's Cul Camp takes place in Belturbet from Monday August 11th until Friday August 15th.
Cavan Juniors
Cavan juniors play Scotland in Edinburgh in the All Ireland Junior Championship Semi Final on Saturday August 9th at 6.30 p.m.
