St Patrick's Cavan 2-13
St Patrick's Armagh 2-5

St Pat's Cavan sealed victory over their Armagh namesakes yesterday at Scotstown to take one step closer to the knock-out stages of the Danske Bank MacRory Cup.

Cavan minor star Ryan Connolly helped himself to 1-8 over the hour, with his impressive scores and Ronan O'Reilly's late goal proving crucial after the young Armagh men had taken in the 2-3 to 1-5 half-time lead.

Two goals in quick succession from Eddie Mallon had outweighed Connolly's eighth minute major and the second-half saw St Pat's Armagh carry the fight to the favourites for large portions until their Breffni counterparts finished with a flourish which saw Connolly, Brian Sheanan, Ronan O'Reilly and Darragh Gannon all raising white flags before O'Reilly smashed to the net to put a seal on the victory.

St Patrick's Cavan scorers: Ryan Connolly 1-8, Ronan O'Reilly 1-1, Ben Conaty 0-2, Brian Sheanan 0-1, Darragh Gannon 0-1.

St Patrick's Armagh scorers: Eddie Mallon 2-0, Conor McKenna 0-2, Conor Murphy 0-1, James McKeown 0-1, Rory McGrath 0-1.
